Buffalo August 8. 1975_CaptainAcidRemaster

Hi Stones fanatics,

here it is, my remaster of Buffalo August 8. 1975.

I have worked on "Sad Songs Is All I Know", Morganfield bootleg.
VGP 239 "Goodnight America" is a remaster of "Sad Songs...." tape, and not a very good one, too bright for my ears, not enough bass.
This is not one of "Acid Projects", just "Remastered by Captain Acid".
I have left the original artwork of Morganfield bootleg, just added that i have done the remaster.
I know it is not among the better shows from this tour, but i liked the original audience recording and thought i can make it better.

Another thing is that i am willing to remaster some more shows from this tour and i am open for your suggestions. Only don't expect me to work on some crappy recordings and produce a miracle.

My favourite show of this tour is Buffalo 15/6 - the incomplete audience tape and the even shorter soundboard are (for my humble ears) the best Stones-show I've ever listened to.

But I always fought with the imense hiss on both recordings - take it away and the remainder gets damaged, leave it there and it gets irritating.

Maybe you have an idea? Would love to hear the result smileys with beer

I did something to that audience recording but don´t remember how it sounds.

VGP has YCAGWYW but not Morganfield's bootleg (???)

VGP = 118'39''
Morganfield = 107'37''

Well, yes....i don't know for sure, it's just a guess that they both used the same source tape.
Morganfield is better for me to work on. Probably only someone involved in Morganfield can answer why they have left out YCAGWYW

Yes, i agree, it's an amazing gig. I can try to do something. Only i never use noise reduction, which would be the thing to use to get rid of hiss, i might try to do it with EQ.
Which is the earliest version of this bootleg? I ask because i always try to locate the raw files, not remastered by someone else.

Does anybody have "Star Star" from Cleveland 1975? On my bootleg this track is not complete.

I'm not sure but I think my uploads about 10 years ago were fresh transfers from my tapes and I guess they were better than the released stuff (at least back then). But probably I played around with noise reduction, can't remember. Must take a look at the info files first when I'm home again.

According to dbboots a no label bootleg titled "Buffalo 1975" from 1990 is the first release:

[www.dbboots.com]

followed in 1991 by "Hot As Hell" also no label:

[www.dbboots.com]

I don't have these, sorry.

VGP-028 is from 1994, it is in the Stonesvault:

[iorr.org]

But as we all know, earliest releases are not necessarily the best!

I would like you to remaster from Baton Rouge on 1.06.1975 (first show). The only performance of Rocks Off on this tour, Midnight Rambler at the end, the first concert with Ronnie. The sound is good too, listening very well smiling smiley

Yeah early VGP releases were still a bit tentative (wrong speed, wrong EQ).
