I'm totally in for Shanghai 2014 from the vaults if it must

last night i watched midnight rambler at the marquee 1971 as well as the warsaw version from 2018, and was far more impressed by the warsaw version, maybe it has something to do with the sound quality of the video on youtube, but it is so far my favourite post 1970 version of this song, maybe check out others later.

Interesting viewpoint and probably not (completely) alone .
But for me Midnight Rambler blows best with Mick Taylor involved, thats not knocking Ronnie & Keith, it's just there's some magic created i don't get when he's not involved (sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but its sure as hell always exciting, dangerous and invigorating)

Either way, I'd still sure love to see the Shanghi 2014 version again, Mick Taylor plays some great feedback experimental stuff in this version that's a one off.

I booted the audio from off the youtube vid i posted above that I now can't watch and its great. But i just want to see the clip again. it's GREAT!!!!!! if anyone can help please do

Ah for some thats a long debate, for me with this song - no debate. It HAS to be Taylor, but in all fairness theres other threads for that debate

What do you think of this version, its unique, never played like this before or since.

This is another great version with Mick Taylor, this one has a solo which is totally freedom and it works in the song. Magical version for me. Really great to hear this.

Nah - this is by far the best version I have seen since Taylor left the band. In fact Taylor might even struggle to get into this band.
