It's a VG--/G copy and I'm afraid this will influence the actual value...

The only problem with the signed ones is that they are definitely not all original signatures... I remember looking at this carefully before. The two Mick's and Bill are good (from memory). Charlie is most definitely not him and Keith is very questionable at best (IMHO).

It doesn't make them worthless, it kind of is what it is, that's what happened. A lot of the early letters from the band are secretarial (in the same hand from different Stones). People will often tell me they got a set of signatures themselves. Then I find out what they mean is they gave something to a nice security guard that disappeared for a few minutes and returned with it signed (see the loop hole there).

Hard to value a "signed" one vs. an unsigned. If they were all real period signatures then the signed ones would be a lot more. As they aren't all real but they are of their time and most of the signatures are real then it's probably a little ahead to have it signed. I've probably seen as many signed ones as unsigned though, so there is probably limited difference in rarity.

Condition is definitely more important than signed or not. A Stone mint unsigned is where I would put my money. My better copy was on display at Exhibitionism in London but still has room for upgrade. My best US copy is the nicest one I have by far. I have only ever had three UK copies and still own two, I have had at least twenty US copies and still own four.

The rumour there is 200 of each is complete rubbish. There are definitely not more than 200 UK but there must be at least 1,000 US copies, perhaps 2,000. The much more recent "Black Album" was individually numbered and therefore we know there are only 250.

RSM1 is the ultimate Stones promo album.

Matt, you're right: It's not Charlie his signature as Bill signed for Charlie.
(which doesnt affect the value, just a nice/funny story).
I never heard any doubt about the other signatures and imo MJ/KR/BW/MT are all genuie and signed after the US tour in dececmber 1969.
No doubt that the RSM-1 is a top rarity and price wise it won't be a big difference as when it will be available once in every few years, it well sell for top pricing, with or without signatures....

Pls see also the information on the great Stones on Decca website:

Here is a promocard that has identical autographs. This card was for sure signed on the same day. The card is interesting as it indicates that the date of the signing of the Promotional Albums may have taken place in mid December of 1969. The picture used for the card is taken during the November – December tour of USA and the Stones had arrived back in London before December 14th when they did two shows at Saville Theatre in London

THIS LP IS WORTH IT! No doubt! (conditions are zero for this! To have one is more imported than conditions) This one is the nicest LP you can have in your collection! RSM 1. Not a RSD1.(It's nice..but.....)

The cover photo is from February or March 1969 obviously, early Let It Bleed sessions. Brian looks surprisingly healthy unlike most of the other pictures from his last months. At least you can see that on a different photo from that day. Probably it was shot directly after he returned from his holidays.

What makes the difference? It's the US and UK edition?

As explained above:
USA: RSD-1 min. 1500 copies
UK: RSM-1 only 200 copies (20-24 signed ones)

The question is, how many are really left and how many are left in EX condition..?

It looks the same (from the front) if you just want a pretty album but if you are a collector details matter. The US one is around 10 times more common (much larger and fragmented market of radio stations). Only 200 UK ones were pressed. Rarity, condition and desirability are everything! This is a beautiful cover and historically important, the first ever promo compilation.

There are some mint or very good copies in the radio station archives perhaps.

More differences (but doesn't affect value):
RSD-1:
side 1: 8 songs (incl. short Everybody Needs Somebody To Love)
side 2: 6 songs

RSM-1:
side 1: 7 songs (incl. long Everybody Needs Somebody To Love)
side 2: 7 songs

You obviously don´t know what record this is, this is the RAREST ever stones LP and one of the absolute rarest LPs what so ever. Condition doesn´t matter, most of the about 200 they released (about 20 signed) is probably destroyed long time ago.

I repeat:
THIS LP IS WORTH IT! No doubt! (conditions are zero for this! To have one is more imported than conditions). This one is the nicest LP you can have in your collection! RSM 1.(with or without poster or Let It Bleed book).
I don't speak about RSD 1.(too many available).
RSM 1 That's the target!

So it is yes. I have documented about 15 of the signed ones and many of the owners are here on iorr.
I have one of the signed one as well

The condition of the records do have an impact on the price / value naturally. But then again, if you are a collector who tries to build a complete Decca UK collection, then you always need to think a bit... Should I try to find the best quality or do I need to settle with what is offered? Coz if you try to find an ex copy, then you may have the gap in your collection for ever...

I know of only two collections of UK Decca pressed LP's in the world that are complete with all mono / stereo / nonboxed / boxed

I got lucky with my copy, got it from the original owner who was a radio DJ at BBC and got the LP form Decca back in the day. Not plaid many times so I do not have to upgrade.

An additional thing to notice on this copy now for sale:
It has a sticker in the upper right corner on the back side telling that
"Please refer to label for all copyright information"
In addition to this you can see that all copyright info has a pen line over the text. This was done on a very few of the copies as it was discovered that UK and US had different copyright holders for the same songs.
They put the US copyright holders on the sleeve as it was made in US. They put the UK copyright holders on the label as that was made in UK.
They discovered this mistake only after handing out most of the copies.
This is only the second copy with the sticker I have seen in about 25 years of investigating these babies.
And yes, the LP is in fine condition and nothing to complain about the condition. I have had this copy in my hand....

But it's all in the details. If you are not a collector and really don't care, then you may get a London bootleg for a 100 bucks if you like the cover
