1972 Fort Worth soundboard - am I missing something?smiling smiley

Hello,

what's the best and most complete version for the Fort Worth 1972.06.24 soundboard tape for 1st & 2nd show? I have got following titles:

Plug In Flush Out (VGP)
Ahmet Ertegun Thank You Kindly (C2C)
1972 Tour Party (Rattlesnake)

I do see there are lots of other titles including 1st & 2nd show and I am curious if I should get some more to complete my own collection.

these three are all from 6-24-72, the evening show

"Return Of The Exiles" - Halcyon Label

Ft Worth Express - Turd On The Run Label

Ft Worth '72 - Boss Hawg label

kinda hard for me to tell the difference in these sound wise...I do remember I always thought that of all the Ft Worth show I had heard that Ahment Ertegun Thank You Kindly was probably the cleanest...

The Halcyon sounds a little bit boomier to me and the other two are about the same...of course my ears suck so it's all debatable!

Yes, that's true, Ahmet Ertegun Thank you Kindly is the best one. Return of The Exiles is the 2nd best. DAC might have used Ahmet Ertegun for their forthcoming "Touring Party Vol 4", I wouldn't know for sure

Thx guys so kind for all the info.

So, if I am going right, the Ahmet Ertegun Thank You Kindly is also most complete version of this show from soundboard in terms of length and completeness?

Yeah, I know, but sometimes it takes ages to browse all the content and search for so called best sounding and most complete version, thus I always prefer to ask winking smiley.

IMHO the two dullest shows of the tour up to that point. Saved only by Sweet Black Angel in the arvo.

Boss Hawg's Fort Worth Special was the original where all of the rest came from.

One thing I noticed is a slightly different setlist between Plug In Flush Out and Wprk Sucks Let's Go On Tour.

The Plug In Flush Out reveals following song order:

01. Gimme Shelter
02. Dead Flowers
03. Happy
04. Tumbling Dice
05. Love In Vain
06. Sweet Virginia
07. You Can´t Always Get What You Want
08. Midnight Rambler
09. Rip This Joint
10. Jumping Jack Flash
11. Street Fighting Man

Work Sucks Let's G On Tour have following song order:

1. Gimmie Shelter
2. Dead Flowers
3. Sweet Black Angel
4. Happy
5. Tumblin Dice
6. Love in Vain
7. Sweet Virgina
8. You can't always get What you Want
9. Midnight Rambler
11. Rip this Joint
12. Street Fighting Man

Does it mean they are sourced from a different tapes?

Since every 1972 show has an exact same setlist, it is unlikely that one of these titles have a different song order. Furthermore, the song called Sweet Black Angel doesn't appear on the 1972 setlist, why it is included on Work Sucks.. compilation then?

Any ideas why these two sets are differs with songs?

IMHO, there's no different song order, just the first source is missing 1 song (Sweet Black Angel) and on the second source 1 song is missing too (Jumping Jack Flash) and the number 10 is missing in the counting btw. That makes the difference in the numbered lists! Both sources have each 11 songs.

Sweetheart, listen to papa, SBA was played ONCE in 1972, at the arvo show at Forth Worth. If you want to hear it, I can send it along via weTransfer in a few days after my disc drive has been repaired.

Thx for the tips. Sure, I would be more than happy if you can supply me with some decent aud or sbd stuff from Fort Worth.

Btw, I didn't know that SBA was played that particular night, great!

A friend replaced my HD last week but needs to take the back offa my labtop to put the disc drive in. When he's done that I'll upload my Ft. Worth arvo audience source and send it to you via weTransfer or post it here.

(He was planning a quiet night in with his boyfriend last night, so I didn't want to upset things. I never missed my disc drive until I didn't have it.)

What does this have to do with anything, other than an illegible first page spouting meaningless English. "At the end of the sixties a friend gave me the unreleased 1972 Decca album..."???

OK so does your version of Ft Worth sounds better to the already circulated transfers?

Thanks, Pepin, I was looking forward to check this out, you have shared some interesting things here during the years,
but; the link above goes to the Johnny Winter upload, not to Fort Worth 1972. Would you have the correct one?
