you're kidding, aren't you? What's so exotic about 7zip-files?
What about downloading the artwork as well ? If you're not used to the ".7z" extension you may have slept for the last 3 months ?

Ok, so you're not using 7zip to unzip the files? It's working perfectly for me but to be honest I didn't try winrar. I prefer 7zip as a program as it usually can handle all the zipped stuff while other programs are limited.

But ALL music files have added .001 or .002 or .003 or .004. If only one of them was left with .7z then it wouldn't be problem - I think. However in this configuration your method won't work.
My apologies, you could try this instead
you have at least two options to do so:
- open 7-Zip and navigate to the folder where the parts of the split file are saved
- mark the first one (<archive>.7z.001)
- in the menu-bar click "File" -> "Combine files"
-> a dialog will pop-up in which you can decide where to put the combined file
or:
- open 7-Zip and navigate to the folder where the parts of the split file are saved
- simply double-click onto the first part (<archive>.7z.001)
-> the complete archive-content will be shown and you can extract it by selecting the content and pressing or clicking onto "Copy" in the tool-bar

I don't want to install new program to open fancy and rarely used .7z.001 - or something like that crazyness.

I'm grateful for your pieces of advise. But... they are useless. Comp doesn't recognize 7z.001 or even 7z (but 7z I can change to zip which opens 7z files. Other routes are vicious cirle.

Ok, fair enough.
For obvious reasons you need 7 Zip installed.
If you have the application it will recognise the file extensions.
If not and you are using another zip application then you need to check that it will recognise the extensions.
If it does, check that the file associations are ticked/checked for the zip application to recognise them.

Thanks God .7z.001 etc. are usued so rarely so far that it doesn't make any sense to bother (and litter comp) with newer and newer programs just to open one or two music files when there is plenty of others in .rar or .zip

You can use HJ-Split [www.hjsplit.org] to join all parts to one file (7z, zip, rar) and then you can extract this new file with any extracting program

For me no problem:
I opened the first file ....2002.7z with winRAR: the complete box appears in a WinRAR folder then I dragged the folder, with a left click, in the folder containing my new Stones boots.
