Meanwhile it's great with all RS outtakes that's getting to see the rays of light.....just about all Undercover Outtakes sucks, IMO. It was an OK album.....but the outtakes....geez. If I were Jagger, I'd make a solo album too! And yes I know, these tracks are sketches, but they're still a drag, both the songs and the "band-feel"; which is of course gone after 1979

Done some more listening and going by memory it seems to me (haven't gone back to the released version) the vocals are the final ones from the album on songs like Pain of Love, UC and TMB, but the arrangements were significantly modified. The opposite of "guide vocals" in a way. Can't remember too many outtakes being of that nature ?

It possibly sheds some light on the sessions where very late in the game Mick went back in and the instrumental parts changed from what had been finalized, antagonizing Keith in the process...

Good job Gotdablouse! Interesting (listening) observation.

That's how it goes playing in a band (even in THE GREATEST R&R BAND IN THE WORLD)

Sometimes the lyrics are first, sometimes the music and then there is a lot of work to do to really make a song work as a band (some members got a greater vote of course depanding who wrote what etc. etc.)

It's a very different workingprocess instead of one bandmember bringing one song to the table saying: This is how it goes..... (sometimes even this can give a great end result like DOOM & GLOOM for example, a Jagger/Clifford demo recorded by The Stones in three days).

Edit:
Yes, times have changed since Mick and Keith did make demo's together in a Paris Basement dec. 1982 for the rest of the band (Wanna Hold You, She Was Hot etc. embryo versions from The Virchow Tape).

Erik_Snow, will E. L. find a host that provides access on the old 4 as well as/instead of the new 6? (I forget the technical name.)

I miss my membership and I'm sure other Americans do also.

I can't find the original thread on this problem on IORR.

THANKS

Hi Andrews, well, I don't quite know what to say
Maybe it suddenly loosens up?
And if not......remember, we'll all be laying rotten in the ground in a 100 years, so who gives a toss
