Looking for a whole bunch of DAC bootlegs....Nobody???sad smiley
Posted by: coowouters ()
Date: July 17, 2017 00:57

Since I added DAC-177 back in May, no missing DAC were uploaded anymore...
So, to start with (LOL!!!), I'm looking for the following to add to the StonesVault:

DAC 143 VOO DOO LOUNGE TAMPA
DAC 144 STEEL WHEELS TORONTO
DAC 145 STEEL WHEELS MONTREAL
DAC 146 LIVE AT THE SUPERDOME
DAC 151 14 ON FIRE ZURICH
DAC 152 14 ON FIRE PARIS
DAC 154 MIAMI REHEARSALS 1994
DAC 155 LIGHT AS A FEATHER
DAC 156 LANDING GEAR DOWN
DAC 157 STREET FIGHTING MEN IN MILAN
DAC 160 Orlando 2015
DAC 161 Nashville 2015
DAC 162 Kansas City 2015
DAC 163 Indianapolis 2015
DAC 165 Roundhouse 71
DAC 166 Glasgow 73 Sept.16
DAC 167 Montreal 1989
DAC 170 THE BRIAN JONES MEMORIAL ALBUM
DAC 171 HANDSOME GIRLS DETROIT
DAC 172 HANDSOME GIRLS HOUSTON
DAC 173 THE ROLLING STONES ON AIR 1964-1969
DAC 174
DAC 175
DAC Unnumbered LIVE AT LEEDS - ROUNDHAY PARK 1982

I don't know if these are available on the Net or not and I'm certainly not forcing anyone who paid for originals to share them!
But if they are out there somewhere, I would appreciate an upload or a link to where I can find some.

If some have official content, please let me know too, so I know why certain releases are not available (or cannot made available here).

Thanks in advance!!!

Chris from Belgium

DAC-181 "The Virchow Tape"

Thx Rank!

Tracklisting is :

1. Wanna Hold You
2. She Was Hot
3. Can't Find Love
4. Can't Find Love
5. What I Am Saying Is True
6. What I Am Saying Is True
7. What I Am Saying Is True

8. The Golden Mile
9. Christine
10. Dance Mr.K.
11. Forty
12. Heartbeat
13. Identification
14. In Your Hand
15. All About You (Train Song)

16. Undercover Of The Night (WYSP radio version)
17. She Was Hot (full version)
18. Keep It Cool (no remaster 21 min version)

The question now is are tracks 8-15 complete? Probably not... alas!

The Virchov tape lasts 30 minutes "Keep It Cool" is 21 minutes and courtesy of Coowouters we know that "elusive" group of songs lasts roughly 34 minutes.

- The Golden Mile 00:08:15
- Christine 00:02:23
- Dance Mr K 00:02:13
- Forty 00:04:28
- Heartbeat 00:03:15
- Identification 00:06:41
- In Your Hand 00:04:41
- All About You (Train Song) 00:04:24

30'+21'+34' that already exceeds the duration of a single CD, and that doesn't include "Undercover" and "She Was Hot". D'oh!

It is (alas) snippets : the uber-collector Atsu wrote on his blog :

"Trk 8 ~ 15 is also a sample sound source of an unreleased piece from "UNDERCOVER" session. It is regrettable that the origin is a sound source published to IORR, and it is regrettable that it is a sample sound source of about 30 seconds each, but since it is quite high-quality sound stereo, it is awaited for future release.
Furthermore, "Dance Mr. K." seems to be the original song of "Still In Love".

Google "translated" it for you! grinning smiley

Okay. Then the 6CD by Goldplate is complete and nobody needs DAC-181.

So now you know where DAC (and other bootleggers) get their stuff!
One more reason not to publish unreleased material here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for my friend who shared his Philly recording; DAC is going to make money thanks to his generosity.
Where are the days that bootleggers at least gave a freebee to the original taper/uploader....

I sent some tapes to VGP from 1997-2001 incl. Paris III 1970 and Frisco LC show 1972. Mannheim 98 is my recording (and the Chorzow audience bonus). They "paid" very well with a lot of free copies. But suddenly it was over, they didn't want to use average recordings anymore. Nowadays DAC downloads most stuff?

Well one might counter-argue it didn't prevent the JEMS crew to release the wonderful "Foxes In The Boxes" trilogy. Of course the FITB tracks were quickly bootlegged by DAC but through the original Dime torrents and the reposts on several forums (incl. IORR) thousands of people got this new music.
On the other hand DAC sold like, what, 300 copies of their boot.

So the "share the music for free" philosophy prevailed.

Another option to counter bootleggers would be for you Chris to release just one new track per month.
What can a label do when just one new song appears? Put it on a single-CD? No. Releasing on a full CD mixed with 60 minutes of well-known stuff? Fans won't buy it, claiming "what a rip-off".

I think the "one song a month" strategy might work...

Nice idea, but once again, it's not up to me.
Maybe the persons who send me stuff will read this and agree.
I really hope it for you all!

Perhaps the best underground recording in years. It is Undercover sessions with all unreleased recordings (full, not cuts)"

So yes looks like it's true... (yippie!)
