I was at this festival, Thanksgiving weekend '69 at a drag strip in the swamps in the middle of nowhere! It rained and was chilly and---the Stones were eight hours late arriving at the site due to airplane problems in Boston, I think, they came on at 4:30a.m. on Monday morning!

Has anybody speed-corrected the Stones portion. The batteries in the taper's cassette machine ran low resulting in warbly sound. One would think that with modern aural technology being what it is, somebody would have adjusted this by now.

it's a mix of tape speed problems AND out-of-tune guitars (mostly).
Geez the Stones show here is tough to listen to...bit of a trainwreck actually.
Under My Thumb completely cut short due to Keith being unable to tune his guitar.
You can tell Jagger is not that interested in this show.
Still great to listen to.

Its truley unfortunate that this is the only 1969 soundboard (outside of bill grahms) and we have out of tune guitars. Just our luck. Ive been in florida in December and it can get very chilly at night.

I was at the festival on Thanksgiving weekend out in the cold, wet swamps! The Stones were 8 hours late coming of, they didn't start till 4:30a.m. Monday morning, that's probably why they were out of tune and not very interested...smiling smiley

One thing that pains me about the Stones is that nobody ever took into account that they were 100% professional. I think Mick would find it impossible to not be interested in performing. I've listened to this show several times and Mick seems to be rolling with the punches, and having as good a time as he can.

If Kanye or Axl had been faced with those same conditions there would've been hell to pay for the audience, before they swished off stage like a ballerina with a hole in his tights.
