Here's my take. If this "legendary" performance didn't make it to the "From The Vault" DVD series, I'd reckon it wasn't filmed, unfortunately. Would have bought a copy, for sure. If it had been, it should have been a special for this series, but it seems not. sad smiley

I expect that the 1976 Paris shows will be a Vault project sometime soon. The shows were filmed and broadcast on French TV.

Thanks,

Soul

I wish they would release every show filmed as a digital download.
I'm guessing it would be lucrative.

Take the Voodoo Lounge Tour

6,000,000 fans- if 1% or 60,000 fans spend $10.00 for a digital download of the show they attended it's $600,000.

I suspect much more than 1% would respond to offer.

Most of us here would purchase multiple shows, I'm guessing?

The Mexico 14 March show on you tube I put up has had over 220,000 views. There's an audience out there I'm sure would respond favourably to their favourite gigs. The band doesn't even need to edit them, just release them

I'll chime in here... nowadays with iphones and teeny video cameras providing HD and Stereo sound it could've been filmed. Remember the El Mocambo is a club, not much room to do anything more than dance. The film cameras in 1977 were huge, I mean the cameras that would have provided a legacy film with good sound.

"The camera head was about as light sensitive as Stevie Wonder"
Classy all the way!

And I remember now how these tube cams would "grab" any strong light source and leave a smearing trace all over the picture for like 20 seconds (ouch!).

A photo collage would be nice as well.

This is the worst decision in the history of the band. Sorry but it is. Why on earth didnt they try to film it? I'd give my left arm leg for a copy.

Keef's arrest for possession = keeping low profile = no vid.
Keef's look at the time (he was a walking corpse) = no vid.

Has anybody else noticed that the title to this thread is incorrectly spelt "El Mocombo"? I've only just noticed it. I think the reason could be that it's considered to be such a great performance that everybody's attention has been drawn to the comments and not the title. winking smiley
