Need informations of good-eared experts (mines become old!!) about the various studio versions of BS;
I know:

- BS I: Mick starts with 'yoh aarrr'
- BS II: no sax
- BS III: 'Hot Rocks' version
- BS ??: Keith's birthday version

What's about the one with 'castagnettes' at the beginning?

Please,is it possible to list all the vesion with nubers (I-II..)/place of recordings/best CD sources.

Thanks in advance!

RE DAC-063 has anyone checked the 12:58 version that's on disc 1...?

Is it the same version that's being repeated over and over?

Pretty much, it's from the "Sotheby's Reel" a lot of which consists of Glyn Johns rewinding the song back and trying out slightly different mixes.

On 1 (ONE!) external HDD, after a quick explorer search, I found the song 855 times.
If I have to listen to all these and compare them, you'll get an answer in a couple of years, LOL!!!!!!!!!

Thx Deltics!
That's the kind of "outtake" I tend to avoid... and leave to Beatles fan!
"hey on the 4th mix John's guitar's slightly higher! What a discovery!" grinning smiley

The "Sotheby's Reel" origin would explain why a few songs (like "Shelter" sung by Keef) are represented two or three times on DAC-063? Different mixes and all that...

Wish somebody would upload the Mayflower Bootleg "Sticky Fingers Sessions",
it is said to have an instrumental version of "Brown Sugar" as a hidden track!
More info here, HotWacks seems to be down??!

Channel isolation. Some channel bleed-through. Nice but nothing new.

a similar version (same guitar solo/different mix) can be found on "A Shot Of Salvation"

another different mix (same guitar solo) is on the first pressing of "Hot Rocks"

Good point - this is the same as the "Itchy Fingers (IU)" mix I had erroneously listed as version II (now fixed). It lacks the heavy percussion overdubs that were added to the Shelley Mix.

This is version III known as the "Shelley Mix" because the early Hot Rocks pressings that contained this mix were inscribed with the word "Shelley"
