The original VHS release of Gimme Shelter featured a clip of "Carol" from the MSG afternoon show (the subsequent releases had the clip from the evening show instead). That clip had a lengthy gap, which might be the reason it was not used any more. With the recently surfaced film featured on AP website it became possible to fill the gap with the actual footage without faking anything. This is what I did and now we get almost complete video of this great performance.

Thanks, this is brilliant; however I think you can still improve it, by using some of the audience shots present in the AP clip instead of those blank screen at the beginning and at the end.

The Un-restored VHS version has just more blank screen, nothing else. I did not cut any band footage when merging it with AP footage.

Do you mean that 100% of the Un-restored VHS footage is used COMPLETELY for your posting restored version except for its blank parts?
