POST: "KBFH presents Peter Tosh & The Rolling Stones" Frankenstein production 013

King Biscuit Flower Hour proudly presents
« Peter Tosh and the Rolling Stones »
I use the cdrs coming from my great friend Mr No that receive them in a trade from USA yearssss ago.
I only amplified a little the sound; I rework a little the transition between the tracks.
My first idea was to cut the publicities but the length stayed more than 80 minutes so it don’t go in only one cdr….. and the publicities give an historical aspect and are funny. So I decided to keep them and to complete with two others sessions: one from the same era (Detroit 1978) the other from 1981 in Chicago.
Note that on the “Detroit session” they re-use the “Shattered, Tumbling Dice and Jumping Jack Flash” from Lexington (so they’re two times but not in the same quality).
And finally for this new mix of sources, this new Frankenstein production (n°13) I decided to make two versions:
- One complete with all the publicities and the complete sessions

- Second only with music and the DJ comments, and I cut the duplicate songs that were on the Detroit session (I modified also the DJ intro).

I create two back covers, so you had the choice to keep the version that you want or …….to pass your way.

Enjoy!

The first part "Peter Tosh ...etc" was first aired in late summer 1979 but this version came probably from a later re-broadcast, sorry no info it's coming from trade years ago.
About the others sessions they're coming from the re-broadcast from 1987.
It containt also a 1973 session introducing as a 1975 (sic) session!

Thank for the reply Norbert. So this means track 1-20 from disc 1 and track 1-4 from disc 2 all came from the same broadcast? And track 5-18 from disc 2 are all from the same 1987 rebroadcast?

Re: rskinno's listing...Just to point out...Peter Tosh actually wrote "Get Up, Stand Up." Marley's live show finales cruised on lyrical variations of the song for years. It was the source of some of the enmity between them. Royalties can't solve everything, in Jamaica as in Babylon.

All propers to ya, rskinno, for the many fine things you've shared here. You've made my day many times.
