The 1999 Rehearsals : Volume 1 - The US rehearsals

PART 1 : The 22 january 1999 Rehearsals at Henry Kaiser Arena – Oakland
I found two versions of the « 1999 Oakland Rehearsals » with the same tracklist and, sorry, the same poor quality a very interesting tracklist but a poor quality : you’re advertised !
I prefer the « 2nd version » the one with a logo of Rattlesnake on the back (but it’s a fake)
I rework the raw tracks: I cut the frequent silences to conserve only the musical parts that can be identified, I atenuate the more troublesome noises and I amplify the lower sections……... Anyway you can get the « original files » in the added files called ………..« original files », stay free to propose your version.
On the 2nd track someone (a friend of the taper, the taper?) says «…makes no sense to do any recordings … » it’s too much funny here…… so I use it for the title of my compilation & artwork !

Two tracks from this session was missed but they’re on the Dandelion 091/092 « While The Wind Blows Over Toronto » with a second version of « Around& Around » on « Jump Of Top » so I keep all without modification except for « Moonlight Mile » (I amplify the sound of the beginning and cut 2 or 3 noises)

To complete this compilation I added :

PART 2 : 27 January 1999 Soundcheck in Sacramento
Source : « Oakland rehearsals » version 2 (fake Rattlesnake n°33) but this titles appears also as bonus in « Kiss Of Life* » (Dandelion DL 089/90). They’re coming from exactly the same source but with different separations between tracks.

* Note that this bonus tracks don’t appears on the covers of the « Kiss Of Life » in the « rsdbboots » but they’re on mine and it seems « originals » (see the artwork).

the title perfectly fits, at least for the part I recorded.
I asked myself many time, standing on parking lots, taping from outside, why I do this ;-)
