Audio/Video sync of the clips from 1970 tour (Yet Another Update)
Posted by: lenchik ()

I decided to sync some silent films shot during the 1970 tour.

"Dead Flowers" [youtu.be] - this is from Essen
"Roll Over Beethoven" [youtu.be] - this is from Paris, almost complete performance, missing only are the third verse and the middle bridge.

"Jumpin' Jack Flash" [www.youtube.com] - almost complete song with Mick and Keith sining the chorus in One Microphone. Ought to be seen smiling smiley

Two reels shot in Berlin, featuring excerpts of Every song performed (except "Let it Rock") - [www.youtube.com]

And finally, "Let it Rock" [youtu.be] (Essen) - nice close-ups of Keith

1970 super 8 footage

I had those issues too when I once checked the earls court tapes of 1976 to sync them with audio. I guess it´s almost impossible to sync super8 tapes.
there is a constant speed change on the videos, drop outs, the average speed is different from the audio source.

Yes, the average speed is different, but i tried to take this into account.
I found a photo which is labeled Essen 1970 - Mick's and Charlie's clothes seem to match the ones from the film. Not sure about Keith and Mick Taylor.

I did a similar sync to JJF, Sympathy and Dead Flowers. Expect the links soon. These will be longer smiling smiley

Thank you for appreciation! As you see the transfer is not the best one, but it is one of the better films from this tour.

Another update. Now there is almost complete film of "Roll over Beethoven" from Paris. The exact date is September 24, 1970. The silent footage surfaced only recently.

Further update - synced are two reels (b/w and color) shot in Berlin, featuring cuts of almost every song performed (link is on the top). I made just a youtube version for now as I'm looking for a better transfer of the b/w reel and a lower-generation video source for the color reel. I will appreciate if anyone can help me on this.

I managed to get a sync of "Let it Rock" from Essen film. Link is on the top. Not the best transfer...
