Maybe someone thought it would be an upgrade in sound or didn't check to see if they had it?

I see that all the time on forums. Some people are just requesting anything and everything and it's totally meaningless to them. Anything they are made aware of they want just because it exists and they believe they should be able to get it with minimum effort and If they see a dead link for something cue request but ask them to contribute and upload something and they don't want to know.

Of course both cases you mentioned can easily happen! It could also be that you lost the stuff or your are for different reasons unsatisfied with the one you already have, I can understand and accept that and btw it has happen to me a pair of times but I was referring to the cases ade has just described. It's easier to request it (again) than to check in your collection...
