John Mayall´s Bluesbreakers
Jernvallen – Sandviken 8/10 1967 [October 8, 1967 Sandviken Sweden; per www.nzentgraf.de]
Jernvallen in Sandviken is a sports arena and not suitable for concerts. But, at the time, it was the only place to host big concerts. The Hollies, Jimi Hendrix Experience and some other bands, also held concerts there.
Jernvallen was once, when built in 1938, concidered the most modern sports arena in Europe. The arena had a very bad acoustic characteristica with a disturbing and enoying echo. It was also too big – impossible to fill-up the arena in such a small town.

I don't think I ever saw this before!
Thanks a lot.

Steve Thompson was already with Mayall then??

Great story and great pics, too.

But I'm having doubts about the date!

They were in Sweden in the middle of March 1968 with Andy Fraser on bass, most probably.
And the bassist looks a lot like Andy to me.

After listening to this and especially hearing Mayall's remarks about the upcoming single "Suspicions" I'm now convinced the date is correct.

Maybe Henry Bjorklund mixed up Andy Fraser and Steve Thompson?!!

Anyway, thanks again!

I'm sure the date is correct.

Suspicions was released on 7" in October 1967, on October 20 in the UK, maybe even earlier in Sweden.

Also many of the other tracks matches the repertoire of what the band played on stage/radio/TV around the time.
