I've only heard one recording ever from this show, my 4th time seeing the Stones, hard to believe it's been 40 years!

No problem downloading or unpacking, but after checking with Audacity:
Lossy........

I previously compared two uploads, of which one came with reliable lineage, and they both appear to be lossy. So for this VGP it's the best you can get.

I did the analyses again and I'm reconsidering my "lossy" comment.
Especially the "spectral view" in EAC looks as if it's NOT lossy.
However; this recording is exactly the same as the VGP-131 in The Vault (spectrum analyses and all, LOL!)

If you will refer to my post a few posts back, I indicated that that's exactly what this is, VGP-131. I have a 2 CD(R) set of this show, I've no idea what the source is. If you like, I can upload one track to mega & send it to you. I'm always keen to get your feedback on the true origin of anything I have in my collection. I'm changing my email for this account, so pls use that if you wish to contact me. Thanks!

No need; Your upload is the same as the one in the Vault, and as I wrote before, the spectral view analysis indicates that none of the 2 is lossy, so people have the choice; the Vault (Filefactory) or yours (Mega) smiling smiley

The CDRs Heiloobaas got; he got from me - I sent it to him as a favour as he asked to please have it for free. They are directly copied from my silver VGPs. And NO, they are NOT lossy. It's just a dying old tape that VGP used. And when trying to get rid of some of the hiss, some of you using "audiocity" will show them off as being "MP3s".

I love Audacity!

The problem may not even be the tape source (a tape source is not lossy for any program), the problem surely is that Radio Broadcast, and Radio Recordings (and also TV broadcasts and TV recordings) do have A LOT of high frequencies cut.

The subject of compressing audio for TV and Radio (high frequencies et all) is very well known.
