Ok thanks, If I get the point, MP4 is a bit better than WebPm quality wise.
I ask as sometimes you see video only available in Webpm format.

From what I've been reading, I also conclude that mp4 is slightly better.
However, it is possible to convert Webpm to mp4 if need be (but it will not of course improve the quality)

Either webm or 3gp are the absolute worst. What they do to audio files should be classified as a human rights violation by Amnesty International. I once downloaded an audio file in mp3 wav webm and 3gp. Ahwful...

webm and mp4 are containers,
both used to store video and audio

so to answer the original question "About Audio Files"
'the new .webm format. Is it still lossy ? Better than Mp4 ?'
you need to know what audio in what bitrate is used in the upload

for instance nowadays youtube streams video and audio separately,
the website player combines them on the fly.
doing so, the audio bitrate is not affected by video quality like in the past.
regardless of whether you're playing 360p, 1080p or any other resolution,
changing video quality will not impact the audio stream.

if you want best audio available, you'll have to chose from the audio streams available

an example:
rs iorr official promo

streams available:

another youtube url or video info id here

I have a question on a different topic.

I have a DVD-R/CD-R burner in my computer, but I don't burn DVD-Rs. I don't have DVD-R burning software installed (I use Nero 6 to burn CD-Rs), but I could dig some up that came with the burner.

My question regards the DVD-5 torrents that are posted recently. Could I just burn those to compatible DVD-Rs as data files using Nero? Or using DVD burning software? All I want is to give them to a friend to play on his computer.

THANKS
