The original tape was labeled "Steel Wheels Monitor Mixes".
It was shared back in 2006 in its original tracklist order:

2 years later, the Social Graces label published "Training Wheels", a 2CD boots with earlier versions.

Those are the 2 releases to get.

Not sure why you didn't ask in the threads you cut/pasted the original info from? Anyway what needed to be fixed has been fixed.

Because someone sent me a private e-mail asking this and I did a search for "Chuch Magee".

In the post by Gaza, August 2006 ( [www.iorr.org] )
The following tracks are mentioned:

Sad, Sad, Sad
Hearts For Sale
Almost Hear You Sigh (keith on vocals)
Call Girl Blues (aka Break the spell)
Continental Drift
cant Be Seen
Fancyman Blues
Blinded By Love
Hold On To Your Hat
Between A Rock (And A Hard Place)
- labeled as 'Steel Wheels'
Mixed Emotions
Slipping Away
Ready Yourself (No L/Voc)
Terrifying
For Your Precious Love

On 1989 [RS 228] Training Wheels, Steel Wheels outtakes-alternates, Studio Sessions early 1989.rar [www.filefactory.com]
there's an extra track titled ""Giving It Up"; where does that one come from?

On 1989 Training wheels Social Graces 001-002 + 3 bonus tracks.rar [www.filefactory.com][/quote]
we again find this "Giving It Up" + 3 bonus tracks; "Mixed Emotions (Bonus)", "Rock And A Hard Place (Bonus)" and "Hellhound On My Trail (Bonus)"

So back to my original question;anyone out there who can tell me if these (the common tracks) are the same and are these from the "Chuch Magee tapes"?

TIA,
.

Hi All,
A friend gave me several cassettes to transfer to CD. The above tracks were taken from one of the cassettes. I don't know the generation, but it sounds pretty close to soundboard quality to me. The music isn't necessarily unique, but I thought that it might be interesting from a historical perspective.
I do know that the tapes were given to my friend by the widow of a member ot the Stones road crew, so they are authentic.

Hopefully there will be more interesting tapes in he future.

Here you have link to wetransfer with the original files as they were downloaded.

I believe '1989 [RS 228] Training Wheels, Steel Wheels outtakes-alternates' utilizes slightly different tape.
Also, it seems that all the boots start with the same tapes. They are just 'tweaked' it a bit different every time. You know - EQ, peak levels, compression etc.

Those are the 2 releases to get.

Me I'd got with the DAC first as VGP/DAC deals with speed issues on the source material. Other labels are not so careful...

True, DAC dis a great job with their old OBR reissue for example, but I use to give my preference to the tape finder labels.

Thanks guys. (also for the link to the original upload!)

I get e-mails all the time from people who think I'm an expert (which I am absolutely not!) asking me questions or asking to post something for them on IORR (probably because they are afraid that people will laugh at their knowledge of Shakespeare's language ot who are just afraid to ask something on the forum).
Here's one I got this morning:

Hi Chris.

Do you have any documentaries:

1. "Mick Jagger Biography" from the channel History Channel. Under cover of this release. (http://cloud1.todocoleccion.net/tc/2013/01/03/35010843.jpg)

2. BBC Documentary "The One and Only Rolling Stones"
3. Ronnie Wood The Southbank Show (2004)

These videos were once on the forum iorr but links are already outdated. You can ask the forum if someone could post a link to this rar?

I'm waiting for a response.
Regards from Poland,

So I try to help them out by posting their questions under my name smiling smiley

My understanding is the "Chuch tapes" were the monitor mixes. They were released by Rattlesnake and DAC.

Training Wheels are from a different source and include Giving it Up.

Those 3 bonus tracks were from a video and included on several boots including OBR.
