"My father’s Brother, when he was sexteen, following a family visit ti Vienna, decided not to return to Hungary, so he became what was called at the time a «dissident». He recorded the Rolling Stones concert in Vienna in 1982. When I first watched it, I was amazed to have the recording of a concert without sound. It may, of course, seem to be quite pointless and nonsensical, but it included the desire for freedom that rock’n’roll and the Rolling Stones meant for my uncle and for so many people.

This film was shot whit a camera that was unable to record the most important élément : the music. The rock’n‘roll concert is seen in an entierly different light as a sillent film. The whole évent loses its sensé without sound : the movements of the lead vocalist, Mick Jagger, seem to be no more than awkward jerks, and the audience’s head-banging appaers to be a bizarre and unintelligible series of movements.

Cage’s piece, 4’33’’ is silence itself, more precisely, it is composed of no other sound but the noises of the envirnment (the audience’s and fidgeting, or noises emitted by the concert hall’s machinery, etc.) that can be heard during the performance. In the archival film footage utilised by Esterházy, however, instead of the Rolling Stones music and the noises or voices of the audience, we can hear only the subdued rattle of the old film projector.

BTW, I think this one maybe was posted here but I'm not sure, and that's another silent movie, this time with 20+ minutes of 60's footage, probably USA in 1965.

Nice job, Cristiano. We make a good team ;0)!

I'm not sure but there must be at least three different promo videos for "Too Much Blood."

The one listed above "LP Mix" doesn't have the chain saw sound effects and seems to be a slightly different edit. The sound of the music is different the the "Official Promo" on the Stones YouTube channel [www.youtube.com] . I can't verify it at the moment but I think the "Too Much Blood" on "Video Rewind" is different again. I thought I remembered when Mick Comes down the steps (some of my favorite Jagger moves of all time) that it was very clear and not seen through the bloody TV set for a much longer period?

Is this version of TMB somewhat different than the Universal 2009 CD?

It seems the same to me (LP edit), different than the normal promo video. You can watch it at the link in the first post.

Also, I did look at Video Rewind and it's the same as the regular promo video.

Watch out for all the crap YouTube Downloader tries to install by default. DO NOT DO EXPRESS SET UP AND BE SURE TO UNCHECK ALL THE JUNK IT WANTS TO INSTALL UNDER ADVANCED SETUP.

Man, "Say You Will" coulda/shoulda have been a huge hit. The song and video were PERFECT for the time (a bit dated now). I always felt Mick's solo output was on par with Sting and Robert Plant (good enough)...but that somebody at MTV/commercial radio decided a successful solo Mick was not to be. Of course, kicking off Primitive Cool with "Let's Work" didn't help things.

By the way, I thought there was only a performance video of this song.

One of the best ever, don't think I ever saw it on MTV, but it's hilarious.

Hi Stones Fans; Could someone post the footage of the Stones being interviewed in Canada in 1965. I think it was shot in their hotel room.

Thanks,

Charlie

"You won't have seen this ad on TV. The good people at Polydor however granted us permission to show this TV commercial we developed for the Rolling Stones album, Blue & Lonesome. Somewhere along the line it wasn't chosen as the main ad - these things happen - however at Monument we were super proud of this piece, and are thrilled to be able to show it to you.
A real mix of live action, rotoscoped band members, motion graphics, animation, CGI and VFX. It's a mish mash of things that are blues, things that are reds and things that are awesome!
We even spent hours shooting a classic truck for precisely half a second of footage! That's passion."

Does anyone have the LP Mix video to share. I thought Undercover & She Was Hot may have had different videos too.
