POST: GLA_STONE_BURY (taken from Dime)
Posted by: Rolling on ()
Date: July 18, 2013 12:01

All thanks are going to Alex_ander for his work on this DVD and for the gentle share at Dime.
This is what he wrote:

The Rolling Stones - 2013-06-29 - Glastonbury - 2DVD (PAL) - "GLA-STONE-BURY!"

The Rolling Stones
Glastonbury Festival
Worthy Farm, Pilton
Somerset, UK

29th June 2013

Contrast clause. There is a similar 2-disk version of the show on tracker: [www.dimeadozen.org]
The version here differs in the following:
(mainly)
1.Offers sufficient audio upgrade to DVD2 - considering that the video-sourced audio track is mediocre, despite its relatively high bitrate. BBC-broadcasted FM audio is carefully synched here to uncut video for the second half of the show.
(in addition)
2. A trusted encoder type was used here; with settings, optimized for each DVD, e.g. multi-pass encoding where necessary (details below)
3. Measures have been taken for frame indexing (completely prevents drops/repeats etc.at encoding)
4. Muxing performed with TDA 1.6 (the last TMPG tool without internal encoder), TAW4 used for menu only - to prevent, while authoring, any local re-encoding of already encoded material (like some long GOP, unexpectedly found by internal encoder etc.) which cannot be turned off;
e.g. the least evil known is that TAW4 always re-encodes the very last GOP (like 15 frames).

DVD1
Video: MPEG-2 PAL 25fps, 16:9 720x576, CBR 8900kbps, progressive
Audio: MPEG1 Layer 2, 256kbps, stereo

DVD2
Video: MPEG-2 PAL 25fps, 16:9 720x576, VBR 7200/8000kbps (average/max), progressive
Audio: LPCM 2.0 1536kbps, 48 kHz, 16 bit, stereo

Lineage.
I. Sources

Video (thanks to all who brought it to Dime): Pyramid Stage Satellite Feed > TBS6922 dvb-s2 pci card > ProgDVB Pro > .ts file (50000kbps MPEG-2 PAL 25fps, 16:9 720x576, 4:2:2 color space, audio MPEG1 Layer 2, 256kbps)
It can be found here: [www.dimeadozen.org]

Audio for DVD1: unmodified track, demuxed from the video above
Audio for DVD2: FM capture of the BBC live broadcast (Dime torrent - thanks to JTT),
[www.dimeadozen.org]
unsufficient patches made from previous source*:
a) between tracks 4-5 - no music, 7s long;
b) the only patch in music material: choir intro to You Can't Always Ger What You want, half a minute or so;
c) no music - the final audience noise (2 min with band members on stage + 2 minutes of zoomed out stage)
* left untouched the very short BBC 'strong language' warning after Midnight Rambler

II. Transfer details (Alex_ander): ts.file -> DGIndex -> Avisynth -> CCE (4-pass for DVD2) -> MVW (audio sync jobs) - TDA 1.6 (muxing/chaptering) -> TAW4 (menu only) -> DVDRemake (menu + video)
Audio for DVD2 resampled in 64-bit environment of Soundforge 10.

Setlist:

DVD1 (01:06:12)

1.intro
2.Jumpin’ Jack Flash
3.It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It)
4.Paint It Black
5.Gimme Shelter
6.Glastonbury Girl
7.Wild Horses
8.Doom And Gloom
9.Can’t You Hear Me Knocking (with Mick Taylor)
10.Honky Tonk Women
11.You Got The Silver
12.Happy

DVD2 (01:10:33)

1.Miss You
2.Midnight Rambler (with Mick Taylor)
3.2000 Light Years From Home
4.Sympathy For The Devil
5.Start Me Up
6.Tumbling Dice
7.Brown Sugar
encore:
8.You Can’t Always Get What You Want
9.(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (with Mick Taylor)'

So here you' ll get the 2nd disc with the original BBC FM broadcast audio.
I' m very sorry but no artwork right now.

At all

It's really nice to "Rolling on" and a few others peeps to take on their own time to UL to file hosters and share the multiple DVD's (appearing days after days on the WWW) from this great Stones gig (for my own taste the best so far) from 2012-2013 Tour thumbs up

But I still wonder why so many people insisted to ask on various forums/trackers for DVD videos demux (be it DVD5 or DVD9) from the original and wonderful original satellite feed .ts source - 15.4 GB - which is the best way to enjoy the full glory of this great video source and gig.

Anyone with an internet connection and a computer (which is the case of ALL OF US here at IORR) and with a HDTV/Home Theater equipement (which is the case of a great majority of people I'm sure) can stream it from the Hard-Drive of the computer where the .ts file is store to HDTV/Home Theater equipement and enjoy it from the oririnal .ts file in its full glory quality video whithout demuxing/converting/authoring it and then downgrading the video quality - No need to convert the original source to any other format/physical support!!!

FYI and for those who can't deal with DIME/torrents a full back-up of the .ts 15.4 GB source has been done thru FF links (a premium account is most recommanded) by the owner/administrator of Guitars101 forum

I know a Blu-Ray is in the making and in this case and only in this case it could be an upgraded version to the the original feed but only for the audio portion of the feed - which is the only minor but true downside of the original source - if a matrixed version of various lossless audio sources (BBC incomplete portion but with a better audio source - audience lossless master recordings audio sources - I don't know if multiple lossless audience audio sources have popped up so far - I'm aware of only ONE myself) are embended and worked into the Blu-Ray version.

Knowing who is behind this project I'm sure it could be indeed the definitve version (with a physical support) of this great gig.
...unless an unexpected complete lossless audio source - from an IEM source which is possible - from the mixingt desk/SBD which I have heavily doubts on my side - or even better from an official Blu-Ray full HD (audio and video) of the Stones camp which could be the best way for all of us Stones Collectors to enjoy the gig but THIS with a high percentage of probality will never see the light of day.

Falo if you read this post/thread any inputs? cool smileywinking smileysmileys with beer>grinning smiley<
