Hello, I am very glad that Hendrik Mulder's stones page is back!
I would like to buy the following original stones cd from Rattlesnake as described below from Hendrik's site:
Rattlesnake is back: their most recent release is the soundboard from Seattle recorded on oct. 15, 1981: Shoo Doo Bee Seattle 1981. This show was already done by several hard to find Japanese lables like Terrapin, VGP, Dog n Cat; now it's on this well know European label including 12 page booklet.
If there is an original cd from Empress Valley it would probably would cost $300, so please find us a rattlesnake cd's to buy! These Rattlesnake cd's are actually better!!!
I got mine from this guy last week. It's a great CD with nice artwork. Soundwise I only know the Sister-Morphine version and the WOW-DVD version, which both suck. The Rattlesnake release is far better.
I wouldn't be surprised if Rattlesnake and Empress Valley were from the same source ..I have the Empress Valley version and it's quite a good one compared to the some others.
I would discourage the Sister Morphine version for distribution. It is the absolute worst out there...and, one of the worst titles they have attempted to tweak with. Brutal.
I would guess that anything the "good sister" does isn't from an original source, but from their usual computer enhancements from cool, cool hand!?!? Perhaps, we should call the him/her cool, cool, computer, enhacement?!?!

A lot of people prefer buying overprocessed-and-EQ´ed-and-normalized-and-NoiseReduced-and-EQ´ed-just-once-more-to-death copies of widely circulating material instead of newly circulating shows.
As long as people pay money for this and all the other rerererereleased crap from Japan, nothing new will surface (through bootleggers).

Not to take sides on this nonsense, but there is only one recording and all the labels are basically just using different artwork. To say one recording is better (or worse) than another is not true.
Well, you wouldn't think so BOBM but, the Sister Morphine release is by far and away an inferior release to any of the others I have heard yet. It is almost as if they really think they "enhanced" it! It is muffled, one-dimensional and not even close to sounding like they used the same source -though I'm sure they did.
