That's a very good question.

With a bit of fantasy you can recognize the track listing on the picture. They just split the show up to 2 discs - why ever... Disc 2 begins with YCAGWYW (very long title).

Some nice photos on Hot Stuff Japan. The CDs are included in every set, it seems, it's not just an "rs-com mistake"

I'd like a reasonable LP release. No "box" or included book would be necessary.

I would not have anything against a box set with vinyl and CDs and if they want also a book for a reasonable price. Like e. g. the Ya-Ya's box or the Exile box for not much more than 100 Euro. But $750 to $1500 is criminal.

Yes, I agree - that's also a good option.

Is there a chance that they gonna sell this box to the public? I mean the not signed edition.

Have no idea, Steffie - but I doubt it, since we haven't heard anything
Maybe in 10 years time when rs.com is in need of new products

I've seen "unsigned" editions on Ebay. Some cost just $100 short of the signed version plus there's a message saying they'll be sent as soon as the seller gets them. Sounds like a scam to me. If it weren't for the pictures of the box I'd almost believe it doesn't exist. Kind of strange no one on this board has claimed to own a copy. When I tried to order it a couple times from RS.Com I got a message saying store is experiencing problems check back later. I took it as an omen and stopped trying. My wife and wallet are pleased with my decision.

Frank, I think you did good also! This title has gone way off from its "download only" origin. It screams "i'm milking you".

The ticket scalpers that had Brussels ticket packages are now selling the Brussels boxes on ebay. Picked up a sealed copy for only $299.

My copy is sitting in LA, but this guy who sold his copy on Ebay posted a ton of pictures. Frankly, it looks great. Worth $800? No. Worth $300? Maybe.

Ended up buying it, $299 on Ebay. Overall I love it but YCAGWYW (vinyl) is defective. There's noise throughout the song. The other records sound excellent. Actually I would say they're mastered correctly and the cds are a bit louder. I compared the official FLAC files to the boxset cds and they run into the red on my cd players led lights, but the cdr I burnt from the FLAC files fall short of running into the red. Wonder why there's a differnce? Also, else have a problem with YCAGWYW on vinyl?

That would mean the files were made louder for the CD release. It often happens during the final CD mastering stage. Even though the mix is already loud they push even firther the level during the mastering. That's how you get a "brickwalled" CD.

Thanks for the response kowalski. Glad I have the original Flac files. Any idea on why the vinyl is even quieter/warmer? Wonder if it could be true analog. I have to crank the volume knob up considerably to get the same level as the cds. Too bad YCAGWYW is messed up. Although I have to laugh at the irony of the title.

Most likely they used the same digital mix made by Bob Clearmountain for the vinyl but maybe they lowered the levels. From what I understand vinyl can't stand too high levels so I guess that's the reason why vinyls are quieter. But maybe someone who knows more about vinyl can give a better explanation.

edit : actually the version on CD is quite unique when compared to the digital download as obviously it has a different mastering. So all three formats are worth owning...
