He scammed me for 18 discs, don't let it happen to you!!!

Was there a name for his site? Any info. you can give us that might identify this fellow?

I think I did a trade with him a some time ago. It worked out well.

I think I heard about him too. Never heard a bad thing about him though. Until now that is.

He contacted me about a trade in early November. Because his trade list was fantastic (more Stones outtake discs than you can shake a stick at) & our communication was excellent, I (foolishly) sent off his requests, pronto. He claimed to have posted my discs on Nov.25 but since then, I can't even get a reply out of him, muchless the discs I'm owed.

Well, that's good to hear. I hope you guys are right & that there's some explanation for this. I'd much rather eat crow & appologize to the guy for posting this than get ripped off for 18 discs.

I feel your pain, but never trade that many with someone you haven't built trust with. I usually start with 5. I have traded 50+ with established contacts. I "think" I traded with this person too but it was around a year ago. Don't feel like the only one it has ever happened to. I got burned for 38 euros by Thomas Hader. That's why:

How did the story turn out with that guy Thomas???

I have send him also 16 cd's and 4 dvd's last july and I didn't get anything back.
I send him emails but no reply.

Sorry to hear it, I share your pain.

these kind of problems are what have led me to move almost exclusively to bit torrenting instead of cdr trading. easier, faster, cheaper and no hassles or issues with bad traders (and I've been burned a handful of times over the past few years).

I'm really anxious to see how well the next Stones tour does relative to bit-torrenting. Hopefully the Stones recording community will be on top of this like the Dylan community, as a for instance. Been getting HQ recordings within days, sometimes hours of the actual performance. Can't beat that!

has this trader Juan got a name on this forum?

My experience is that most traders are reliable. It´s a shame when someone behaves this way. It kind of spoils the fun with trading. Luckily this has happened to me only once. At the moment I am having this "endless trade" with a person from Italy, and so far I have been waiting seven months for the cdr´s. Several months ago he promised, on this forum, to fulfil his part of the trade, but nothing happened. Totally unacceptable.
