Fascinating. Let's see if they can dig up and post the long "lost" She's A Rainbow video.

Now I've got another idea.

First, the JJF 4K remastered videos earlier this month. Now, the WLY 4K remaster. I wonder if this is, at long last, the start of the Mercury Studios promo videos restorations first promoted so long ago at [www.mercurystudios.co].

Note, however, that Mercury isn't mentioned in any of the three video pages.

We can only wonder .....

They used a stereo version for the soundtrack. Has this ever been released officially before?

Did anyone else notice how crappy the quality is for this promo? Also, they have re-made it - using b&w footage in place of what was color footage, adding in the Brian Jones bust part.

I don't think ABKCO has a decent copy of the original promo........

Golly gosh mcp, you're dead right. Compare it with, for example, the one at [www.youtube.com] - different as regards quality, colour, and content.

And ..... at the start of the new one, the accused is walking to the left of screen, but in [www.youtube.com], he's walking to the right of screen! This new one has plenty of differences.

Really enjoyed seeing the new version of the video.

It's as if [www.youtube.com] is an original uncut version with monochrome elements. Note how it contains the newspaper headlines which have been blacked out of [www.youtube.com] at the same point, along the lines of mcp's mention.

Could [www.youtube.com] therefore have been a subsequent enhancement with edits (out), colourizing, and video quality improvement? And on that last note, could the video quality in [www.youtube.com] have been kept as is in order to stay true to the original instead of what appears to have been a subsequent enhancement?

Whatever the case, these are some of the differences, along with my take on possible reasons. If I have most or all of that right, then I'm OK with the video quality of the one that's just been posted.
