ROLLING STONES
Recorded live at the United Center, Chicago, Illinois
"No Security Tour"
Monday April 12th, 1999
Recorded by Roy Martin using a set of Sound Professionals Premium
Binaural microphones with battery box plugged into a Sony RM-R30
MiniDisc Recorder. It's not the greatest capture. I was in ultra-
paranoid mode, and mic placement left a lot to be desired (close
together, protruding from my wife's purse). I never thought much of
the recording and never transferred it to CD. I recently located the
original MiniDiscs & gave them a spin. On second thought, I feel the
recording worthy of transferring & sharing with the Rolling Stones
collectors out there. Great setlist & the band plays superbly pardon
a flub during "Bitch." Keith makes several references to the city
they're playing ("I think I've been here before.") The sound for the
first couple of minutes at the B-Stage sounded pretty muddy but improves.
Listen to the audience after "Sympathy." I think they expected the
band to return and play "Satisfaction" - but the show is over.
Master MDs transferred October 2019 to digital by playback in real-
time on a Sony MDS-JE510 MD deck w/ TOSlink/fiber optical output --->
SoundBlaster Z soundcard optical input as a 16-bit/44.1kHz WAV using
Adobe Audition. Only the most minor changes (fades) made to the WAV.
No EQ applied to salt 'n' pepper to taste. If burning to CD, begin
Disc 2 with "Out Of Control." CD Wave Editor used to split the large
WAV. Trader's Little Helper used to encode the WAVs > FLAC (Level 6).
