Mick TAYLOR
With the James HARMAN Band

This is a series related to Mick TAYLOR shows with The James Harman Band in 1991 and it’s dedicated to the late great James Harman (June 08, 1946 - May 23, 2021)
A big thank you to all the people who recorded these shows, to my two accomplices nzb and Jaap (Stonesmuziekfan) who gave me the benefit of their versions of these shows and their advice and support... and therefore without whom this project would not have been possible.

Volume 02
LOS ANGELES
08th February 1991 – The Palomino

8th February 1991: JAMES HARMAN BAND.Los Angeles, California, The Palomino
Line-up: MT (gtr, voc)/James Harman (voc, harm)/Joel Foy (gtr)/Jeff Turmes (bass)/Steve Mugalian (dr)

CD1: first set
01 - Introduction
02 - I Got News For You
03 - ‘D.C. Lights’
04 - You Shook Me
05 - Icepick’s Confession
06 - Mad About Something
07 - You Got To Lose

CD2: second set
01 - Dynamite
02 - Swamp Night
03 - Laundromat Blues
04 - Red House
05 - unknown
06 - I Declare

I added some slight tremble and rebalanced the channels (+5% to the right channel).
“I Got News For You” was cut in two parts: they’re now reconnected but a gap can be heard at 0’45. The same for ‘Mad About Something’ which was reconnected at 10’26.
Note: Despite all our research we could not identify one of the songtitles. If anyone could help us we would be very grateful!

As usual all the infos are taken from The Mick Taylor Complete Works Database by Nico Zentgraf: [www.nzentgraf.de]

I believe it's Oh Baby, Can I Have A Little Talk With You?
The same track they played on 'Bluesin' Festival' 1991 6th July: JAMES HARMAN BAND. Pistoia, Italy, Piazza Del Duomo.

James Harman himself told me the name of the track on 2006 by e-mail.

See my post here

EDIT: Since I'm not at home, I can't compare with the Bluesin' Festival 1991 version, but, judging by the last 2 minutes, he constantly repeat "when you baby talk, baby talk to me, all I wanna do, little talk baby, talk to me". Next week I'll be able to check it and I'll let you know!

Thanks
The rhythm is near and there is vocals improvisation around 'Baby.. talk to me etc... but for me it's not the same song.
Let me know when you will have the opportunity to compar them (I will post Pistoia on sunday)
About the title from Pistoia it's "Mad About Something"from the "Do Not Disturb" album. Please listen at:
so it's curious that JH make this confusion
Anyway thanks for the try
