Are There More Ass Blasters Out There?
Posted by: exilestones ()
Date: September 12, 2021 11:33

After a private email with The Godfather of Rolling Stones Fans, Jaap, I wondered if there are more Ass Blaster releases that I don't know about? Does anyone have more Ass Balster info?

Dear Godfather of Rolling Stones Fans,

Thank you for the Ass Blasting! I was looking on the online list. Silly me!

Thank you for the information regarding Ass Blaster! I love Ass Blaster's high-quality material!

I wonder if there are many more Ass Blasters? From Ass's numbering system there seem to be at least 37 titles. There is probably more good shit out there.

Jaap, I hope you are happy and healthy!

Thanks again,
Gerard Exile Stones

REVIEW:

Here is yet another remake of fan to fan release that presents BBC recordings, split in two discs. The first coming from High Quality Transcription Discs which were the UK equivalent of USA radio shows on vinyl that were then sent to various local BBC stations for broadcasting (but also abroad for Commonwealth countries).

It is thanks to these discs we do have high quality recordings from the mid sixties. There is no notable difference on Disc One from the previous edition called Complete BBC Sessions. Particular attention must be had when burning these tracks, it will be advisable to have no gap between songs from the same show, however, a 2 second gap is recommend to separate the various shows.

The second disc offers Off Air Recordings, recorded most likely from radio broadcasts on reel to reel tapes. Notable here are Roll Over Beethoven and Beautiful Delilah recorded live on the British 64 tour allegedly from Go Man Go and Top Beat, something that has been discovered after the release of official compilation On Air, that can be here appreciated in better quality than before.

Compared to the previous release of these sessions from the same label, in addition, here there is Not Fade Away from the Joe Loss Pop Show that was missing before (strange that it had not been included on Disc One with the other tracks from that show).

This fan-made release represents the gold standard for Stones BBC collectors, let's just hope that more unknown broadcasts will pop up in the near future.

Packaging is good showing nice photos in black & white of the period, however, some mistakes have not been corrected, like the two songs new sources from Disc Two (Tracks 7 and 8).

Stay Away from " Beatles White Out O21 " . A lot of my friends and me bought the original Boot LP many years ago . It had added sound effects and bogus mixes = Just Complete Krap .

"An important message from Ass Blaster Records:

Everything on "White Out" is an authentic unreleased version/mix in the best available quality.

There are no "added sound effects" or "bogus mixes".

Stop hitting the pipe."

Mr. Blaster is saying this Ass Blasting version is not the same as the old bootleg.
