1965>1967 WE WANT THE STONES! • Remastered Live Bootlegs Anthology (boxset) ® by Teague Raw

The historical importance of the early Rolling Stones concerts, in full creative jubilation, interested us in the highest degree.
The group sends its tubes at full speed, and time-outs are rare, like their appearances around the world, tirelessly, for concerts in less than an hour.
The public, as is usual in pop music invention's period, moves at concert to scream, it makes you wonder if the music itself might have any interest…
We still have his testimony necessarily touching, as is often the quality of recordings is not the best as we looking for.
But in fact, listen to a sound capture of nearly 50 years old, is the best way to (re) plunge into a warm, when the hysteria lived mainly in black and white.

This anthology brings together twelve of the concerts so that we have reached so far.
Of course, access to the original recording is a waste for us fellows. And also, a fifty years old tape is it still usable?
I worked using the various bootlegs. Listening to different sources, selection of the best, then remastering patient and applied…
The remastering can not save everything, but it can help listening.
I confess, the worst audience recording makes me unable to listen to a concert to the end.
The bet was to make the listening easier, bring music to the front when it's possible.
Lowdown (really) annoying shouts, remove pops, level up sounds that are muffled ... Use the noise reduction as lightly as possible, so as not to affect the music ...
Some gigs needs a hard restore more than an usual upgrade.

Fortunately, some of these recordings comes from radio broadcasts, which makes the job easier, then it's just give a little bit of expense to the quality of its follow our technological developments.

It remained to make everything work in a delicate and elegant design that respects the graphics of the time, so I searched the documentation, photos, fonts that closest respected this o pleasant 60's world.

In short, I remastered these wonders to rediscover them and I really enjoyed myself. I sincerely hope that you have as such fun as me.

Be free to upload this everywhere you want.

Hi Teagueraw

First I want to thank ya for all the fantastic job you've done with these 60's shows. After a quick check in my Stones Archives, I noticed that a very few that are listenable are missing and could be added on an extra CD if you want to do the job indeed winking smiley

Here's the list :

The Mike Douglas Show June 18.1964
1.Carol
2.Not Fade Away

Live at the Kurhaus August 8.1964 (the worst soundin' one)
1.Walking The Dog
2.High Heel Sneakers
3.Susie Q
4.Mona

Berlin October 10.1964
1.Little by little
2.I just want to make love to you

Bandstand Special Australia TV February 17.1966
1.Get Off Of my cloud
2.Play with Fire
3.19th nervous breakdown
4.Lady Jane
5.Satisfaction

and forget my request about the Popside TV show in Stockholm, I didn't recall you've already done the job in the TV sessions 1964-1969 grinning smiley

Hello,
Popside TV show is a playback, so it's not very interesting to remaster it.
For the others you suggest me, it's very sympatic, but I think I'll stop remasters for a time. It makes me more than a month to work on 60's live shows, and now it's time to do my own job.
Many thanks, maybe later…

Hi Teagueraw,

First of all thanks for all the great remasters you have done so far.

One question, have you ever posted the Sep '65 Ireland tracks in flac/aiff?
If not, would you be willing to upload them?

Thanks in advance,
Stonemac

I recognise uploading itself is time consuming left alone the time needed for remastering.
Thanks for all your remasters sofar.

I can open them with VLC Media player and convert to Wav with Foobar.
And the resulting wav file can (again) be played with VLC Media player...

Going to convert them all ans see if I can burn them and if so, see if I can listen to the cd on a stand alone cd player.

Will let you know the result later

Having problems?

Try 7-Zip (as usual), it worked for me.

Apart from the _MACOSX folder you should have a folder called:

'1965_1967 Live Bootlegs Anthology (mp3 version)'

The mp3 files are in there.

_MACOSX folder is meaningless on Windows, it is just a part of th MacOS file system - ignore it, well delete it anyway smiling smiley
The same goes for the '.DS_Store' file and all the other files starting '.'

Oh, and thanks for all the hard work Teague, much appreciated.

Worked as a charm. Used 7 zip to extract, Shortened the track names and burned the mp3 files (except 1 album; not enough space on a 700 Mb cd) as a data cd with Nero. Tried out the mp3 cd in my car and it works as it should.
One thing; if you do it this way, add the maps/folders, not the individual tracks. If you don't do it that way, nero will put the tracks in alphabetical order. If you do it that way, the tracks stay in the correct order.
I only didn't figure out yet how to burn the respective shows "DAO".

Thanks Teague Raw for all the work!!!!

Here you go:

Wetransfer

But you'll still have to unzip it; Wetransfer automatically makes a zip file if you're uploading several files at once. Use Winzip or Winrar if you don't want to download other software.

As the original, the size is to large to get all the MP3 on one CD. However, if you skip the "The Hague" show, the rest will fit.

(Track names are shortened and the tracks are numbered 01 to 117)

I have to say Teague Raw that your remastering work is excellent. However your downloads are terrible. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but why do you insist on making it as awkward for people to download as possible?

You don't need the venue of each track contained within the filename - just include it in the text file.

KEEP THE FILE NAMES AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR EVERYONE.

Thanks.
