These are for sale as a pair, not separately.




Both discs came with red and white OBI (Type 2) with list of The Rolling Stones titles in P25L series.

CDs, Booklets and OBIs are VG+ to EX state. Only few very faint scuffs are seen on the play side under strong bulb. Discs were tested and guarantee to play w/o skips and rip w/o errors. Some minor signs of wear and ageing to the booklets. OBIs w/o any sign of color fade.

Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass) (UK version) [P25L 25039] and Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) (UK version) [P25L 25044] were issued on CD in Japan only. For the first time these albums appeared in 1987 in P33L series. P25L series is the next generation. It was on market from April 1989 till February 1995. Discs that are up for sale are relatively late (probably, 1993-1994) re-issues in P25L series with mate plastic hub pressed by JVC using ‘new equipment’, with characteristic block barcode (a.k.a. ‘JVC tetris’) on the inner mirror band.

It is not known what source tapes were used for preparation of these discs. Most probably, they represent on-site made digital transfers of LP master tapes that were handy in Japan. Big Hits (High Tide & Green Grass) contains 5 wide stereo and 9 electronically reproduced stereo (ERS) tracks (1, 4, 6 – 11, 14). These ERS tracks are unique to the whole London CDs set. Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol.2) also has one ERS track (You Better Move On). The rest are wide stereo, but mastering is not identical to well-known infamous ‘MFSL transfer’ that was used for West German London discs.
