I wasn't there, but it was my first boot.. Love the raunchy recording audience.. As for the size of the venue, quite intimate for the 1972 tour, it seems.
But they sold 4K tickets for each show so as not to create a mob scene at the front of the stage.

So there were a few. Probably a case of just taking whatever venues were available.
