What do you think is the best audio editing software? I was looking at Adobe Audition CC. Will be getting a trial to see if this will work. Trying to clean up some audio tapes from the family. Thanks.

"Audacity" which works on Apple MacIntosh macOS ,Microsoft Windows,and Linux and is free. Windows 10 might require Audacity Nightly Build(s) as opposed to the standard version of the program.
"Ardour" is another solid (as well as free) option. It runs on FreeBSD, Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
I recommend trying these 2 first.
