First - A BIG hello to all from Germany.

I'm new here in this Forum and want to thanks all the Members for so many great Posts here.

To give a little bit back I want to give a Part of my own Collection to you and so I put al the Covers from The Rolling STones by The Black Crowes + all Stones related Songs on a 2 CD Set with homemade covers including all locations.

I hope my first upload here will work fine.

What a GREAT upload! I,ve allways loved Black Crowes, but never before heard them play stonescover, which they do VERY nicely (10/10). Nice artwork.

Thanx ;-) You're welcome. Crowes are one of my favourites, and i think meanwhile the had played about 100 coversongs by many different artists.

Thanx for the meanings & thank you's. It would be great to get some response about the Versions by the Crowes - bad, not so bad or fantastic ! - what did the other users think ?

I like the most of their versions, can't you hear me knocking, you gotta move, midnight rambler, loving cup and torn & frayed are in my opinion as good as the originals and i just wanto see his face is a song i don't like so much by the Stones but TBC did a great job and it's a cool version - the last time sounds live by TBC better than the live version by the RS - but that's my meaning.

I agree about the songs you mentioned and would add Cancel Everything and Silver Train as very good ones, especially the first one! I would like to hear Sway by TBC, I think it would be aperfect one for them.


Concerning the flac files request... do you have the songs in silvers cds, copied cds or are they mp3 downloads. Converting m3 files to flac has no sense at all (it's a waste of time, effort and it doesn't increase the quality at all). Anyway there are free progs to get the flac files from the cds.

Standouts are Memo From Turner although the singer isn't the greatest.
No Expectations is good too. Happy starts out like it might as well be Keith. Assuming that's Rich on guitar he nailed the tone. Honky Tonk Women is not so good.
Cancel Everything is absolutely perfect until whoever sings starts. Damn that would've been fine with Chris on vox...Just Wana See His Face is a musical phenom that the Stones should have known they wrote....but damn Chris should've sung that one too. Who is that off key singer?

Thank,s for the time and effort very enjoyable. Saw them open for the Stones at Wembley 1995 Voodoo Lounge Tour, pity they only played about 4 numbers before being rained off

Exactly - Happy is played the "Expensive Winos way" - and midnight Rambler is played as in "the good old days" ( the seventys).
