Was wondering if anybody could tell me what the best version of this song was on? All opinions would be most appreciated! Thank you kindly.

On Sheep-Dip-Blues (DAC-105). It's longer than elsewhere.

I *LOVE* this track! So happy to learn that there's a longer version! Mick sounds so sexy singing it.

The version on DAC-088 is shorter but it's louder, punchier. This version sounds a bit dull and flat (imho).

Big collector of outtakes and fan of that song but for some reason had missed that extended version...how odd it took so long to surface, this is what collectorsnews [www.collectorsmusicreviews.com] has to say about it :

Quote

“I Love Ladies” is the same take that appears on Munichland Melodies (Dog N Cat DAC-088) but in far inferior sound quality. The old track lasts 4:41, but this one lasts 6:14 with the addition of another guitar solo. Legend relates that Jeff Beck rehearsed this song with the Stones with the idea of replacing Mick Taylor. The first four and a half minutes disputes the notion because nothing in it sounds even remotely like him. But the final ninety seconds has a guitar solo which vaguely resembles Beck’s style. Whomever is playing makes the instrument meow like a cat, and Jagger scats along! It’s a remarkable piece of music which lends some creedence to Beck’s involvement

Great track!

I have some Black and Blue Sessions boots, the one I wish for is 'Play it Rough' on the Vault but didn't download for me; does anyone know, do all of the B&B session boots have the hiss?

Mickboy's 'Rags to Excess' I think has some of these outtakes also; is the hiss still present or gone?

Thanks gotdablouse; I was listening to these very tracks on YouTube last night

Do you know if Mickboy cleaned them up for his 'Rags to Excess' collection?

Well that's what he did so I'd think so ;-) Haven't listened to them for a while though and he didn't have that long version of ILL.
