Greenfield's book (S.T.P.) indicates that the band, or at least Keith, thought the KC show was so bad that they scheduled the Dallas "rehearsals" before the Texas shows.

just an un-fckn-believable night-

i just skimmed through this video and it brought back so much of it- all that bullshit about the "vegas stones " being on "auto pilot" since the steel wheels tour is no- nothings talking on the internet repeating something over and over and thinking that makes it true.

this show just had a vibe about it,chicago opening night, seeing the babylon stage for the first time and them doing anybody seen my baby and out of control for the first time, keiths set was all about you and i wanna hold you-little queenie on the b-stage,just amazing.

i remember seeing the silver and white confetti that had caught in the chicago wind and blown against the curb a few blocks away from the stadium as we were driving off into the night and it seemd a bit surreal- it just seemed like a sort of magic surrounded that show.

with all the nonstop jibber jabber on the fansites about setlists and vocals being a little off and on and on...it's easy to forget how many 100's of great nights this band has given it's fans in the last 25 years.

Fantastic example of what the first show is like - very ragged!

ragged and unpredictable and off-kilter and not polished and unsettled with the band finding their way.

in other words-perfect.

a video of a rolling stones show isnt a rolling stones show.

I was there for the second show, and of the 13 shows I've seen, I think that was the best. I didn't even have good seats!

Good ole BLIND BOY FULLER...

That one kind of sounds like "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant"

or properly said, Arlo seems to have borrowed from Blind Boy Fuller, but who hasnt?

Wow Turner68, big thanks for that. Such an amazing tune and this version was great! Those two voices sound amazingly good together. New found respect for Beyonce. Excellent post brother!

Glad you enjoyed! I don't like most of her music but she seems to me to be undeniably one of the best singers of her generation.
