Maybe it's a bit risky to post a song/video by my own. On the other hand I' m a Stones fan as long as I can think. But I don't think I can do Stones songs as good as the original, so I make my own music. video: [youtu.be]

What is new with this one? 480 p isn't exactly HD. And the sound is so-so. Too much distortion on the bass. I saw this on Youtube years ago. It's good though. From their peak period.

Arent the Montreux rehearsals available officially on some dvd, like maybe the Marquee Club set? Is this song, Loving Cup, not included?

I had decent vhs of the show back in the day, still do in fact, and it was at least as good as that youtube clip.

Yes! A few times. But it is great and warrants repeated postings!

Instead of the umpteenth "from the vault" DVD with all the same songs every month, just think how cool a live DVD of these two with Charlie on a small kit playing songs like this for 2 hours would be.

It would be HEAVEN! That is something I'd pay a lot for!

** edit ... btw, this is the type of thing I was expecting when Stripped was released. I do love Stripped overall, but still it was a huge disappointment for me at the time.

No idea if this has shown up here before. Came across them covering Satisfaction on a post on Dime. Found this on utoob. Sounds a bit like, to my ears, punk rock with a touch of psychedelia.

The mix is truly horrible but The Troggs were pretty solid and for sure took on the early punk or garage rock feel in the 70s.

Yes, indeed the mix ruins it all.

Came across this. No idea if its been posted here before. His most known song is probably "Pancho and Lefty" which has been covered by many.

Very nice version - I won a bar bet against someone years ago who mistakenly thought this was an original from Townes Van Zandt.
I tried to tell him nicely it was written and first recorded by the Stones, but he was absolutely sure it wasn't and made the bet...and he lost.smiling smiley

Yeah, the late great Townes. One of the best songwriters ever lived on this planet. His Live-version of Dead Flowers at the end of Lebowski was the perfect last song of a great soundtrack. BTW: "... A tougher get was Townes van Zandt’s cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers,” which plays over Lebowski‘s closing credits. Allen Klein owns the rights to it,” T Bone Burnett says. “He wanted $150,000.” Burnett begged Klein to just come down and watch an early cut of Lebowski. “It got to the part where the Dude says, ‘I hate the @#$%&’ Eagles, man!’ Klein stands up and says, ‘That’s it, you can have the song!’ That was beautiful.” quote rollingstone.com
