I always loved this intro used on Rewind.

Interesting to see something other than the RollingStone.com clip. Thanks for sharing!

Actually better than I remember it being at the time.
Not a fan of Bernard's lead vocals, glad Keith took over, but unfortunately Bernard takes over again towards the end.
Nice to see and hear Sarah Dash, and interesting to see Lisa wailing away...she lets out a really odd scream right at the 4:21 mark reminiscent of Yoko Ono.

Yeah, I remember watching it at the time and thinking it was a complete train wreck, but for some reason, it's not bad at all with this audio feed.

Watching this video, I found myself wondering, "Why does this live version of Gimme Shelter have more of an edge to it than anything I have heard from the Stones in ages?" Maybe it's the rawness, looseness, of it. Don't know, but it's pretty good.

i think gimme shelter has more of a menacing edge when keith sings it. i only got to see them once but i really loved the winos. that was a smokin' hot band!

When & where was this taken?

For the guitar players amongst us: doesn't Keith go horribly 'off the mark', right before 4'00"?

Goes on way too long. Waddy does a solo that sounds more out of key than Keith usually does...

Yep, on Nico's site a listing such as 151022A delineates the first entry (the "A" suffix) for the date the 22nd of October 2015. It was also Lisa's last performance with Keith.

That is quite touching. And how charismatic is Mick?! Electric.

Anyone know why Paul didn't show up to accept?

Quote from Paul:

“I was keen to go to (the dinner) and pick up my award, but after 20 years the Beatles still have some business differences which I had hoped would have been settled by now.
Unfortunately, they haven't been (settled), so I would feel like a complete hypocrite waving and smiling with (Harrison and Starr) at a fake reunion."

It's very old history but ironic you'd post this, as it's a fave of mine, and every few years I seem to look for it; I just did a few days ago!!
yeh i think all along these guys were friends; showing up for each other
now and again in sessions or whatever; it always charms me; any of that fan
miniutiae (sp?) about these masterful historic icons.
I like the fights and snide remarks; it's kinda like Ray and Dave or Pete and Roger in the old days; tho ol Rog vould knock Pete to Jupiter without
having to wind up the shot...
....they sometimes acted weird around each other; whivch is also what
friends will do over years in the same business with fans in common and all that...
i sure bought both bands everything from the start.
i love this speech; the four headed beast; the long leather coats; hahhaaa.
i love the story, he didn't go into it here. where George took the guy from Decca; dangit, i forgot his name but used to know, sorry...
...but the exec who passed on the Beatles and was infamous for it.
supposedly George took him to see The Stones; telling him
he didn't want to pass up on this band too.
So tho i enjoy some of the slams very much; and can certainly find Beats
stuff i do NOT go for if i look for it...i love that band warts and all;
those guys were pioneers. it really stayed with me when i finally
caught up with that interview when Keith went to see Hunter at Snowy Creek, I think; not far from Aspen. and Hunter is asking him about The Beatles...
keith just extemporaneous explained to him that John was the 'strongman'
who kicked the door down, that everyone else passed through.
respect.

Love that clip.. Mick is very genuine throughout the ceremony. Class.

Paul's induction of John Lennon was also very moving.

Mick is always such a charismatic speaker. On SNL he has always been funny, assured; almost faultless. And he was surely the one to induct the Beatles.
I only wish that Paul had been mentioned a little more.
Ringo was obviously still drinking. His face actually moved differently.

Jagger has said he was not really a fan of the Beatles music and it sticks out that he did not really talk about the Beatles music itself here.

OT: Lawrence Welk goes one toke over the line

How could this not be shared with y'all? For those of us of a certain vintage, the Lawrence Welk show was a staple view in our parent's home. Mister Welk himself appears at the end of the clip from his show. Where oh where are the Lennon sisters today?
