Ok - this AP site is cool

Looks like they digitized a big chunk of their archives.
I think many IORRers are going to spend a lot of time on this site....

keith was just laying into that solo on carol,he was playing the shit out of that thing.they way he was just hanging on that bend...damn.

i've said it 1000 fckng times on here-the stones need a curator.someone who knows them, knows their career really, really well and can tie all these videos and lost, forgotten and missing pieces of audio and video together.
they really missed the boat not using bill wyman for this-when bill retired instead of acting weird toward him they should've said "ok you're retired,we got a project for you" bill loves that kind of thing, but what do they do? what they always do-make some awkward drama out of it.

actually not so much lame. madison square like a home town crowd they give so much love. legendary. no invasion band really makes it without NYC. They were doing something that hadn't been done much at all with the advent of PA speakers in an arena. The Who & Zep were playing big theaters but this is 20,000 people. They were listening that's for sure. They look kind of geeky, that sideburns thing was new as was the longer hair, at least for most of the culture. Suburban towns in all directions had the few black families living in a row near the overpass on the edge of town. You could get thrown out of high school for wearing blue jeans. All the greatest historical bands of the 60's that were left were in peak form at the time. The last time they had played New York it was '66 and Brian was in the band. They played a tennis stadium. We have the last concert from Hawaii. This was a very different Stones in a very different time and they were pioneering here. "Bleed" hadn't been released yet. It would be in a week. There was only Boston, Florida and Altamont to go. People were getting it. You're right they are certainly not joyous and stomping. Some people there were really in the groove. This is a different view. I'm in love before he hits the riff:

Fantastic footage! And, Keith plays the ES-355 and not the Ampeg Dan Armstrong...That's absolutely new to me!

Thanks for heads-up about this MSG film! Interestingly the Carol segment featured here works perfectly to fill the gap in the officially released video (featured on Gimme Shelter VHS). So we get nearly complete footage for this song

OP : consider quotation marks around "YouTube" on the Subject of the initial post.
I think that might help people locate this thread more easily using the "Search" function.
