Stones in Guinness Book of World Records?
Date: October 17, 2008 19:47

Elvis got several records in the Guinness Book of World Records, but what about the Stones? I only can found one in the most recent edition: as the most successful music tour. Other known records of mentioning of the Stones?

I'm not sure there's a category for most casualties by association.

Longest gap between decent records by a still functioning band?
If so, they're still setting the mark...'81-present.

Most of their record achievements would be relating to tour attendances and grosses. ABB was the biggest grossing tour of all time. Voodoo Lounge was the one with the highest attendance.

Dont know if its in the Guinness book, but the attendance at SARSTOCK was the biggest ever for a one-day ticketed concert.

What the Stones grossed with ABB albeit 3000 years of touring a record they ignored probably won't be matched. It's beyond obscene.

Then again...they beat their own record. So who knows. It's just that no one else seems to have the draw they do.

Doubtful.

The Blind Boys of Alabama would probably be older. Theyve been going since the 30s I think and maybe even have a couple of origional members.

I remember they were changing first place with Deep Purple in the early 70s for loudest band with every tour.
They must be something like the band with most releases that went platinum and/or gold?!

They must be competing ("active musicians") with Cliff Richard in chart presence according the number of decades.
