Surely someone has some accurate information. To this day, with everything that has been published, Tony's is the most authentic and exciting of all the books published by or about the Stones. I really appreciated the video of him speaking - it fleshed out the book, so to speak.

"authentic" ? Dunno, I believed everything in there when I read it 30 years ago but having spoken to people who were in Nelcote since, there are severeal stories (Keith having to give his Rolex to fishermen for one) that are simply not true, so that kind of colors the rest...

It doesn't matter about the details. In terms of giving you the atmosphere around the RS, for me, this book is the most authentic.

Any Time people :p im going to dig to find as much unknown information as I can, Hoping I can get a good response from Blake Publishing's or similar. Maybe compile anything I can find into a good article or more

Your grandfathers book (and a BASF 120 minutes tape with Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed and Black and Blue I got around the same time) basically started my love for the Stones.

Still one of the best books for me.

After reading this thread I downloaded the book. I had not read it since High School and loved it then. I reread it and enjoyed it. It brought back a lot of memories of the first time I read it. It is pretty well written. It jumps around a lot, and a lot of it seems to be stuff he didn't actually witness but knows historically. And of course, this book does not show Keith or Mick in good light. They come across as naturalistic egomaniacs. And users. And Toney also. He continually writes about their horrid deads, yet for money, access, and drugs he keeps going back. A good read.
