Great rareties you posted Urban, thanks.

By the way do you also have the piece of plastic that was included with the record Rolling Again ?

Think I should post my rareties as well

Piece of plastic ? I can't remember , do you have a sample -picture from that piece of plastic ?

Urban it is a small piece of red transparant plastic that you could use to look at the picture sleeve and it will invert the colors of the picture

Is songs of the rolling stones with the circus cover really rare and what is the value of this one?

No one?

Sorry for the late response....so hellish projects at work showed up friday, and am just now coming up for air....

Anyway, the Field cover, is rare, and usually brings in from $300 US to $750 US, but usually around $500. The Circus cover is MUCH rarer. Someone mentioned 700 euros, which I think is a FAB price. Just a few years ago, I had two sealed ones (from the ABKCO vaults, and got $5,000 US for the first one, and $4,500 for the other. But I would say, a sealed copy now worth $3-$4,00.

JR

Why is the circus cover much rarer and how many copy's are pressed?

An interesting question steffiestones - in fact I was wondering how many copies were pressed in general of vinyl bootlegs. Does anyone actually know the answer to that?!

I thought everyone had given up on this thread! I am so glad it is going again....there is just so much stuff to cover.

How about the full Bill Wyman letter including the hair and envelope as featured in his book Rolling with the Stones (without my permission).

We should probably start a separate thread called "My favourite Stones collectible" where people can post just one item that is most special to them, like their first concert ticket a poster from their home town etc... It may encourage more contributions too as it is less daunting and more personal.

Anyway, if there was such a thread this is what I would post beyond all other 15,000 odd items (and you haven't seen the best stuff yet!).

My Euro 07 laminate.... simply the best thing and Stones fan can be entrusted with. Just a little piece of plastic but it holds so many fantastic memories.

Urbansteel, I understand your point but that wouldn't be the point of a "My favourite Stones Collectible" thread. That would be a "My favourite Stones Memory" thread and I would certainly post in that one too with a different story. Maybe I confused the issue because my favourite collectible, my laminate, was linked to a memory. I am sure many others' favourite collectible will also link to a memory but not necessarily and not necessarily their best memory.

Here is another item I particularly like. Not only is it from my home town (before I was born in 1975!) but because I got it in a trade from one of the kindest and most geniune collectors I have ever met. It reminds me of my heritage as a Yorkshireman and of my ongoing friendship with one of my best buddies, as well as the Stones of course!

Very nice. I'm really jealous... again! (in a goog mood)

Matt, do you collect pins?

Absolutely JordiStones, I collect everything. I try to get some best in class stuff in every category and anything else I just happen to like. Here are two of my favourite pins. The 1975 Tour Pins (Not only did Ronnie join the band in 75 but I was born in 75). The silver one is actually made of silver with gold detailing. It was an entourage gift and is very rare. I am actually looking for a second copy of the coloured tour pin for someone important. If anyone has one I will trade generously for it! (sorry they are hard to photograph well).

Hi Mat,

I think you mentioned aabout the zippo stones lighters a few pages back? I am sure you said that they were quite hard to find and worth some money.

Is there just one particular lighter that falls into this category?

Re: Add photos of your rarities....
Posted by: mattleeuk ()

There have been many merchandise lighters which are worth a lot less than their promo brothers because of availability. The Flashpoint lighter is the legendary Stones promo lighter (it was never made for retail sale, hence only small numbers exist). You can see one in the picture below (far right) with a few more Flashpoint promo items.... (As with most things have a spare one I am willing to trade!)

Thanks arc-angel, good to have you back from your business trip.

Did I post these yet? (I think I might have done, sorry if I have).

The UK and US emotional rescue invites. This thread is totally disorganising my collection as I pull things out to photograph and don't put them back properly.... I now can't remember what I have posted and what I haven't.

OK, a couple of the items here I have posted already but this is what I choose to hang in my living room....

A Promo Licks signed guitar, Bobby Key's Exile Gold Record, Matt Lee's Exile CD Award....

A Ronnie hand drawn guitar design, a closer look at the guitar...

Closer on the awards....

Conversation Piece on canvas, one of my favourite Stones posters....

The poster again, an awesome Ronnie gig poster and a Charlie Watts drum kit drawing....
