was just listening to the Pogues version of the p.f. sloan eve of destruction - on their fab new boxset. also - a week or so ago i was having a convo with a lady at a restaurant who is good friends with another member of barry's new christy minstrels....

Interesting thread....Barry McGuire...when I was in high school in the early 1970's (around 1973) Barry McGuire came to our school for a "talk" in the school auditorium...he was a Christian speaker and singer and played some Christian songs and I rememeber (because I still had the single on 45 rpm) that he said he would never play that song again because of the negativity...havent really thought of him since but I guess he has changed again...
