Mick has never been my favourite Stone so I've often wondered why he is to so many others. To me he ranks nowhere near the top as far as vocals go. I also can't see how or why any woman (or queer for that matter) would find him physically attractive.

That being said, I must acknoweldge that I am fully aware he has and will always play a huge part in the song writing and overall aura of the group.

i love it!! my previous post ignored and then the word "queer" appears.

he plays out the role of male/female at the same time 1969 in particular. those lips are huge and he teases and adds confusion to the mix - best front man ever. it's all about selling the product and the man is a genius....don't matter about the vocals when he had the conviction.

Because he's a great singer. Because he's rich and gets lots of pussy. Because he's an inspiration to wrinkled, small-waisted 60-somethings everywhere.

He's sexy as hell. He's always been sexy as hell.

Best frontman in the world for starters. Also, I can understand that both men and women find him attractive. And he's a fantastic singer with his own sound and style.

Women love him cause he has a great big long stack of gold records!!

He's always intrigued me, even when I was a kid and thought I didn't like the him.....since then, I've come to discover he's just the wittiest, the prettiest, and an awesome white boy blues singer, as well.

Maybe cuz without Mick Jagger would have been not stones at all?
If its not enough, its beacause he's the best frontman in rock'n'roll history.

Most of the above, but also ... you gotta love him if only for the monumental effort he must have put in over the years in doing whatever he's had to do to keep the Stones together, and that very obviously includes having had innumerable spats with Keith. Yeah ... I know that HE'S the one that's wanted to do his own THANG far more so than the others, but I'm looking at the larger picture ... lets just say that in some vaguely equal measure, him AND Keith have kept the Stones going for as long as they have. So whatever role he's personally played in doing that, ten out of ten to him. and I think it WOULD be fair to say that he has probably provided far more steerage than any of the others in the band when it came to all those pain in the arse business dealings etc, don't think I'm far wrong in saying that he's likely to have shouldered a far larger proportion of THAT particular burden than any of the others. And ultimately of course, WHAT a frontman.

Yep - THEEEEEEE best frontman ever with oodles of charisma and whatever it takes (for which Greek-god looks are not a requirement).

I have gotten down on Mick before when he does some things on his own, but when I see the Stones live he blows me away every-time. I go to shows hoping Keith is on, because that makes for the most fun you can legally have outdoors, and he has been on a lot. But Mick has always delivered big-time in every show I have seen. In addition to the music he is a fabulous entertainer, when he is at his best he can have a magical Shaman-like effect on a huge crowd like no other I have ever seen.

but it's like looking at the Hope Diamond and saying "but it's not my style" -
some forms of brilliance are simply beyond that

It's his totally professional attitude when performing, he is never sloppy and always does the prep., you would never catch him falling asleep during Angie (yes, I know it would be hard as he is singing it!)

I sometimes despair seeing heroes like Jerry Lee Lewis, who'll go on tour without any attempt at getting fit or relearning songs.

Great singer, great frontmen...

I would have thought a lot of people, and not only women and queers as you put it, could see how sexual he is. He is a great frontman; great technique, great physique and great energy. He is also, (imo), a great rock-n-roll singer and, like Charlie, totally professional. The Stones are the sum of their parts but I wouldn't go and see the Stones without him.

i once attended a buddhist teaching. and the lama (no stupid money-guru) said that mick jagger is the only person (besides his own teachers) he ever met (by accident at an airport) who has such a strong aura and energy surrounding him. he was very impressed!
i cant judge this, but whenever i saw him live, i always felt like he gave alot of energy to the crowd. most frontmen just seem to take all the energy in a narcistic way. but with mick i always have the feeling he's giving it back somehow. besides that he was one of the sexiest frontmen ever. he's a very underrated songwriter and he wrote some of the best lyrics in rock'n roll history. and what i like most about him: he has a lot of self-irony!
