Here is one to do justice to the "diehard fans" as well as to the "masses", so everybody would be happy:

A. "Diehard" section (only core band on stage, with exceptions marked below)

1. One Hit
2. Tumbling Dice (horns and sax allowed for the ending part)
3. Bitch (with horns, but rhythm guitar still in charge) - alternating with Rocks Off -
4. Beast of Burden - alternating with Loving Cup (Ian McLagan on keys?) -
5. Gimme Shelter (please no Lisa)
6. Black Limousine
7. She Was Hot
8. Time Is on My Side
9. Midnight Rambler
10.Jumpin' Jack Flash

B. Keith section

11. Happy
12. Like A Thief in The Night

C. "Masses" section (full line-up, allowing Mick to operate on his "reduced register", whereas the guitarists - with the exception of Blondie - may avoid playing entirely and concentrate on mugging and posing, instead), also referred to as "Disgusting Travesty"

13. Medley of Brown Sugar/ You Can't Always Get What You Want / You Got Me Rocking / Miss You / Rough Justice / Honky Tonk Woman / Sympathy For the Devil / Satisfaction

Its fun making your dream set lists however for me if I go to a Stones show and hear something different and not the same parade of hits I am happy. I actually enjoy the hits much more when they are surrounded by songs they haven't played to death. The Beacon was a great selection I thought. But even then I think it would have been a better show if they did say Midnight Rambler in place of Sympathy, which has not been played great at all.. Would also like to see them rest Start Me Up but doubt that will happen.

In general more 60s stuff like Down Home Girl (which Tom Petty plays a great version of and shows how these old songs can be given new life)..

My dream set list, unfortunately, gets squashed by a reality check. The reality check is the Stones will do 20 songs, maybe 21 if you see them early in the tour. Sooooo, my set list will include some wishes, but some reality as well, meaning some warhorses.

1. Honky Tonk Women
2. Respectable or even better Summer Romance
3. Shattered
4. Dangerous Beauty
5. Tumbling Dice
6. Memory Motel
7. Beast of Burden (ugh!)
8. Prodigal Son (yea!)
9. Sweet Virginia
10. Paint It, Black
11. Coming Down Again
12. Before They Make Me Run
13. Out Of Control
14. Around and Around
15. Bitch
16. Start Me Up
17. Satisfaction
18. Brown Sugar
19. Sympathy For the Devil

20. Midnight Rambler
21. Jumpin' Jack Flash

I've seen many shows, although not as many as some of you on this board, reality has set in and made me a bit jaded as to the variety of songs and the likelihood the band plays several warhorses each and every show. I still like some of the warhorses and have listed below 25 songs not considered a warhorse that it would be nice if the band considered playing some of them, perhaps through a rotation of at least 4 or 5 each night. Springsteen does more than that each night. If the E Street Band can do it, why can't the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World pull it off?

In no particular order:

1. All Down the Line
2. Moonlight Mile/Can't You Hear Me Knocking/or Time Waits for No One (Taylor classics that they could pull off at least one of these for their next tour.
3. Monkey Man
4. Rocks Off
5. Live With Me
6. She Was Hot (not many in the U.S. saw this one played)
7. Respectable
8. Out of Control
9. Memory Motel
10. Around and Around or Let It Rock
11. She's So Cold or Crazy Mama
12. Heartbreaker
13. Hand of Fate
14. Waiting On A Friend
15. Sway (not many in the U.S. got to hear this one)
16. No Expectations
17. Dance Little Sister
18. The Citadel (Oh Well) ( maybe be a bit too eclectic)
19. Summer Romance
20. Love In Vain (needs to resurface, Jagger likes this one and Ronnie's not bad on the slide)
21. Prodigal Son
22. Sittin' On A Fence
23. Shine A Light (ok, a bit of a promo for the DVD by the same name)
24. Dangerous Beauty
25. Coming Down Again

None of these songs can be found on 40 Licks and very few are on any greatest hits compilation. All, or nearly all, are known at least by the fans, and presumably, the band so they could play them fairly well without much advanced notice or extensive rehearsal time.

22. Salt Of The Earth
23. If You Can't Rock Me
24. It's Only Rock 'N' Roll
25. Moonlight Mile

Why is this so impossiable!

It's so impossible because they will not end a show with a ballad and they will not play a song with the lyrics " The band's on stage and it's one of those nights..." in the third to last slot.

It's also impossible coz they'll never play 25 songs in a million years.
If ever they tour again (and I still doubt that very much), they'll propably do 17 or 18 songs. They've down on the number of songs with each tour. They're not doing 2½ hour shows like they used to some 20 years ago...the reason off course being, that they are 20 years older...and that's okay with me, as long as they still can do the job.
