Midnight Rambler was sometimes the encore during the Licks tour.. In Hartford as the encore they did Rambler and JJ Flash and I thought it was the perfect closing for a show.

LOL And Bianca among all those "terrible" roadies!!

I'm not shure. But wasn't there a 72 US gig with M. Rambler surprisingly either at the beginning or as encore? Ah, Kansas City ?

Jagger played Ron Wood's silver Zematis guitar on "Finger Print File" the only song Jagger played guitar on. Ron Wood played bass and Bill Wyman played keyboards during such song.

As in like this pic:

Never heard anything like that before. I know they opened at least one show with "Rambler" (which I thought was really odd) in Australia on the Licks tour. I love the song as a closer or an encore, but as an opener? I don't think it would work all that well.

Oh Yes, sorry.
I mixed things up! Getting old , or tired . .

I had a boot from Seattle 72 with a prominent re-starting from M. Rambler.
Somehow it sneaked in my mind and I mixed it up . .

But what's that Bugle mag? Are there more good pics?

Yes,I believe Kansas was a theater show. And Seattle 72(at least one of the 2)was an unusual performance but no Rambler closing.

As I said, - I completly mixed things up. Had those 2 boots from the B.Rouge gigs in my mind. Both closed with M. Rambler.

Btw. Some of the Getty images are very nice too!

In 75/ - and 76, that's when I saw them, Keith was more in the back. And Mick was doing much fooling around the stage with new boy Ron.Both were very present in the stage act!

Hello everyone!

I've been following this site for the past few months and just joined.

I attended both of the Stones' concerts in Baton Rouge, LA. on June 1, 1975.

The first show began at approx. 5 pm and the Stones played for 3 hours. The final song for the first show was Midnight Rambler. During the first show they also performed Rocks Off, Dance Little Sister and Luxury.

The second show was a repeat of the first show except they played Wild Horses, Heartbreaker and ended with Street Fighting Man.

Both Baton Rouge shows have been bootlegged many times, but they both time out a bit less than 2 hours each.

From the comments above -- that these shows were 3 hours long, it appears that the boots are incomplete. Is that true?

Heartbreaker is not on the 1975-06-01 late show bootleg.

And the Baton Rouge boots both end with an encore of Midnight Rambler, neither ends with Street Fighting Man.

Are both of the Baton Rouge boots out of order and incomplete?

What gives here?

is it an encore, or simply a last song?

Well, what about the missing Heartbreaker from the late Baton Rouge show recording?

And what else was performed on June 1st, 1975 that made these shows 3 hours long?

Was that the Richards' toothache show? I think there were two basses for that one song.

Clapton and Santana guested at two different MSG shows - one at each, i mean.
what "toothache show" do you mean? all i associate that description with is that Annie Leibowitz backstage shot

Midnight Rambler was the encore at the Nicaragua benefit, January 18, 1973.

When Keith played bass on Sympathy also Bill played bass. That's why you hear two bass lines, and starts the song as a complete mess.

Math--thanks for that--that was my hunch, and I sort of remembered seeing wyman (in his red shiny lizard suit) playing bass at the end

indeed, thanks for that SftD bass elucidation, Mathijs - i have the june 27th show, but it's missing SftD
and when i've seen photos i don't think Bill was in them ... or anyway he wasn't the one i was lookin at :E

The I have a bootleg of the first show and it does not contain all the the delays between songs. Richards and Wood spent much time tuning guitars between songs.

At one point Jagger asked Richards "What's the next number Keith?" Richards walked over to his amp, looked at a piece of paper and shouted something to Jagger. I have not heard that exchange on the bootlegs.

Jagger even asked the audience if we had any request we wanted to hear.

The 1st show lasted at least 3 hours.

i remember Geraldo on WPLJ FM in that week playing live clips from Baton Rouge 1

"Never been here before... sounds like a good place" (into if you can't rock me)

i could not believe we'd soon be hearing IYCRM live

i've gotta dig up that audio tape

sweet neo con. what i wouldn't give for a copy of the bugle. i was at that concert (foh) and it brought back great memories. i remember taking a road trip to milwaukee, from suburban chicago,at the absolute spur of the moment, and without tickets at that. i think we got ours in the stadium parking lot for 15 bucks each.
once again, it was an another awesome concert. to hear luxury was one of the many highlights for me. thanks.
