Wow....Tommy Chong is coming home with a show in vancouver resurrecting Cheech and Chong.

A little know fact is that although Cheech is an obvious east LA sterio type, Tommy Chong potrays a westcaost canadian space caddet....I know....I grew up with them....west caost space cadets that is. Vancouver was the pot smuggling entry point for canada in the day. If you get the point of Fear and Loathing in as Vegas you get that the flow of the west coast drug tide washed backwards as it hit the hills west of LA (not a drug town of repute). However the wave travelled north to Vancouver and vancouver was probably the second biggest hippie holdout of the day (still has second largest circulation of rock age magazine next to RS). The whole...'how big can you make that joint man'....'can't see out the windows of the van'...this was west coast canadian living at it's finest.

here in Los Angeles.. They had everyone howling... never forget that concert.

I knew some fellows who turned their closet into a greenhouse when we were in university. End of the school year, they used that rolling paper to get rid of their surplus. The entire dorm was involved. Kids today, with their CDs and MP3s, just wouldn't have that kind of wholesome fun!

I'm thinking Chong needs the money. Great that his old buddy Cheech is helping him out.

70-year-old guy (that's right, SEVENTY) talkin' 'bout his bongs and shit. What a laugh riot!

Chong is super cool, really down to earth fella. I had a copy of his latest book to get signed and was was funny about it was that I bought it on Ebay and it came from the New York Public Library and had a stamp that it was removed from Library circulation or something like that.

Don't know if any of you ever saw his Chong Glass line of products before the Feds broke in and destroyed his warehouse, they were all great pieces of glass art. I am not a user of those products, but do appreciate unique one-of-a-kind art.

Yes, Cheech & Chong are very old at this stage, but to see Cheech these days dressed like he was in "Up in Smoke" is kind of disturbing or cute...can't figure which.

Tell you the truth, I really wasn't even aware they had broken up. If I really thought about it, I guess the last time I remember seeing them do something together was their appearance in Scorsese's "After Hours" in 1985. When you're my age, stuff that happened in 1985 doesn't seem like it happened all that long ago.
