AC/DC will kick off its first world tour in seven years on Halloween (October 31st) in Chicago, a source close to the band has told Harddrive Radio. No other details on the trek have been confirmed yet. The tour will come in support of the group's new album, Black Ice, which is due out on October 28th. A single titled "Rock and Roll Train" will arrive at radio stations around August 28th. Black Ice, which will be sold exclusively at Wal-Mart, is AC/DC's first new studio effort since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip. The 1977 AC/DC song "Let There Be Rock" will be featured in the new Rock Band 2 video game, due out in September. This will mark the band's first and so far only contribution to a video game soundtrack.
i don't know if they are starting in chicago but the tour is happening..FINALLY OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED:
Tuesday, July 29, 2008 Extensive AC/DC Tour To Begin In October As expected, AC/DC will embark on an 18-month world tour beginning this October. Creative Artists Agency managing partner Rob Light confirmed the news during a touring panel today (July 28) at the 83rd annual IAAM conference and trade show in Anaheim, Calif. Light didn't reveal further details about the trek, which will come in support of AC/DC's upcoming Wal-Mart exclusive release. A single is expected to hit radio in August.
it is incredibly good news.. we could not have asked for better than an 18 month world tour..this is going to be massive..they are going to hit everywhere..
for me who has never seen them- and they are currently one my absolute favorite bands if not the- i am relieved.. i thought i had missed my chance..
i will be trying to get to a few shows...
if things go as expected it looks like they will start with arenas in the US during November..
this is also good news as its much better than stadiums....
just hope ticket prices are not too crazy..generall ac dc from what i read are pretty reasonable people not into the $400 tickets or fanclub membership crap...
Is there any website where we could find some reliable rumoured dates (although I have no doubt that they will definitely stop over here in the Netherlands)?
I think it would be too expensive for them to kick off in Chicago. Union costs of the hall during a couple days or more of pre-production would cost too much. Starting in Pennsylvania, a smaller market would be more cost effective.
Nice! Great ticket prices if that's the case...hopefully their prices don't rise because of the economy problem here in the US.
One more question: what's seating like? Does the floor have seats or is it General Admission...if so...is it crazy rowdy? There's not like moshing at AC/DC shows are there? I'd love to be on the floor but I don't want to be trampled!
i love this an acdc show has worth and lower prices for a better show and the stones give a show for a lot of money when keith can barely play more than 3 chords and half a solo on the right key.
