I love the Stones and they are my favourite band...but the Stones aren't Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The set list will be the same with the war horses ! If you want to hear Winter, you can listen to Mick Taylor with Carla Olson. Great version !

albop - You're right on the money. My thoughts exactly.

My list, for what it's worth -

1. One Hit ( To The Body)
2. Driving Too Fast
3. Hot Stuff

I'll be happy to hear anything but I really do wish for them not to play it so safe next time. There's no reason to imo.

I realized something interesting the other day regarding my kids. They love the Stones and know most of their music. I say most, because I just realized they don't know the warhorses. Brown Sugar came on the radio and they were like "is this Mick Jagger singing"....but they can sing just about any "rare" song you can think of!

I enjoyed 2000 Light Years From Home in 1989/90, but it's a shame Mick messed up the lyrics (he ended each verse with "2000 light years from home", instead of "500 light years", "1000 light years" etc!).

Sometimes I wish I were a ignorant casual fan like 95% of the people who go to the stones shows thinking the Stones are only: statisfaction, brown sugar, JJF, Angie,Start me up..... (by all means great songs of course)
But knowing also the songs you all mention above....

Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, Standing In The Shadow (as 1st song)

Have they ever done this since 1966? Certainly Mick Jagger did a great version in New York in 1993 (as an encore!).

OK, it's a bit fast (but still fun!)

Brilliant. Thanks so much. I never knew Jagger had touched this song since 66.

It's a bit surprising that it wasn't performed on the Voodoo Lounge shows, as Jagger has often revived RS songs in his solo shows first. At this show in 1993 he also performed 'Live With Me' & 'Rip This Joint', & in 1988 he performed 'Ruby Tuesday', 'Gimme Shelter', 'Sympathy For The Devil' & 'Little Red Rooster'. All were performed a year or so later in subsequent RS tours.

Their sound and execution on ABB was definitely on the right track. Guitars were cranked UP. More than any time I remember. Finally, we got Keith AND Ronnie blazing away at equal volume. But after the first 2 legs of the tour...a different sound and feel started to creep in. They always say that the band sounds at its best from the middle of the tour to the end.

I disagree...to me, that's the most boring time to listen in on the band. They're set in a groove...the excitment, anxiousness and nerves are way gone. By the time the tour's over, Keith's "let the tiger out" to me, feels like the tiger is lazily lying on the ground waiting to be fed.

The only way to encapsulate a tour's sound is to attend the first 1-2 months of a tour. I wish they would record shows from this time frame rather than wait when they're in their 6th month or whatever. I understand, they get the kinks out...but they lose oh so much more.

Just bring it back to basic. Smaller venues, less show, more music thats all I´m hoping for, but it´s much to late for it I fear.

For the love of god, take a look at Exile On Main Street for the next tour. There are still high quality tracks that have never been performed in concert 36 years on.There's also a handful of great tracks which are quite rare lately (Rip This Joint etc.).Those two categories combine to make up at least half of this legendary album.

They only seem to play Sweet Virginia,Tumbling Dice,All Down The Line,Happy, and Rocks Off with any regularity lately (of the Exile songs). There are more than five songs to this album.

Keith & Mick sharing vocals on Happy with that as the only Keith song.

That's a good idea but with two KR vocals in addition.I'd rather hear You Don't Have To Mean It than Miss You once again.

Fingerprint File
Soul Survivor
Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, Standing in the Shadow -- I think they could pull this off -- with horns and overdriven guitars. That would be a blast!

I'll swap Winter in for a ballad.

I wish for songs that haven't been played already on recent tours.A good dose of them, anyway.
