a big NO to another stadium-las vegas-tour!!!
small shows here and there, back to the roots, no big-hits shows: anytime!!!

They are the best stadium act I've ever seen.
Every tour was bigger, louder and more profitable than the previous.
Doing something at a lower scale would not be an option for them.

We are always very happy to see them in a theatre, but isn't even MORE fun because it is such a rare event ? .

We may be happy about small venues, but most people would think they are too old, they don't draw massive audiences anymore etc..

I don't think they will end their career after such kind small scale of tour, but who knows...

Well, Charlie agreed to tour on ABB with the agreement it was his last, so we'll have to see if he stays true to his word or not.

Maybe they'd do a week of shows at MSG or something like that?
That might be convenient for them, and sorta large scale and small scale at the same time...

At what point does one continue to "prove" "being" "the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world"?
I don't think any of the Stones care about that. And besides, it's not about that. If they never tour again, life goes on.
My personal wish? Either do a new record and actually play half the damn thing while touring under the name of it - or the O2 was the last show.
They just did a tour that they played a lot of hits. Licks was a lot of hits but sounded newer and fresher. Bang was just a retreading of Licks only worse - they had new songs but hardly played them. They completely destroyed older songs they've either never played live or here and there. And they relied on the one thing Mick has always been against - their past.
What we are starting to get is a gigantic version of The Beach Boys. Either it's one last go 'round with something NEW or call it quits. We don't need to see them on TV touting some decades spanning CDs for the sake of more nostalgia. It would be funny though - no one would be able to understand Keith and Mick would talk in that "Hi little boy!" voice like he did for the horribly mishandled youtube legends shitpie.

How many times does it have to be pointed out that this 'quote' (which no one has ever located) is absolutely fictitious and never happened?

Like Prince playing over 1 month at London's O2 ?
That's not what I call a success.
As un-exciting as Celion Dion's residency in Vegas
They have always topped anybody else.
If they want to stay No 1, I believe they should quit now.
How many entertainers and sports people have been too far, have played a season too much ?
I feel better thinking it's too bad they stopped, because they were the best on stage, rather than thinking why didn't they stop some years ago because they are really too old to rock ?
Many people went to see them in 2002/3 and 2005/6/7 because they were sure it was their last opportunity.
Most of those who came in 2002/3 weren't there in 2005/6/7.
The same will happen again if they make another tour => less success, even with cheaper ticket prices, which, despite the current crisis, won't be an option.

It means that there is no Stones tour planned in the next 12 months.

There was something about this in the Q magazine in 2005. It was the Keith interview, if I remember correctly. Keith had asked Charlie to tour, and Charlie had agreed on the condition that it was the last time. Of course, Charlie could change his mind.

I wonder how many people Bruce Springsteen has played for the last 2-3 years (which can be compared to ABB- / BTB-tour).
If we disregard Rio, he is probably quite close to Stones.
Moneywise no, because his ticketprice is lower.
Any figures / numbers?
