You're absolutely correct, that IS awesome. I'm not prejudiced of course by the fact that You Gotta Move has to be up there among my most fave of all Stones songs, but still ... it IS awesome by ANY standards !!

Go Keith go .................................

Listen to Mick Taylor playing YGM on his 1990 "Stranger In This Town" album.
But the video above is worth watching too! Great guitar. Many thanks.

<<Have they ever played YGM since the 75-76 tour ??? >>

Last appearance of YGM was Knebworth '76, so yes they have, unless you consider that concert as a part of their '76 European Tour.

Amazing.

When I found Sticky Fingers I was about 15-16 I believe and You Gotta Move is a track I would be constantly listening to. I remember fondly, tt sounded completely diferent from everything that I knew, slow but very exciting at the se time. Awesome.

Very cool! In my opinion, Keith was getting his best live guitar tone in his long and storied career during 1975-76 period. Wow!

Keith plays some very expressive blues. He always plays with the knowledge of what to leave out.
so much has been written about him and the Stones but honestly there are a great many blues guitarists whose playing would stand with Keith's and who have done it night after night professionally. He would be the first to acknowledge this, I'm sure. He made his mark as a songwriter and had the good fortune to be aligned with the acceptance of blues and rock and roll as put across in the early Sixties.

Whew, smoking version! Love it live... So funky and rootsy with that gospel flavor. Keith bending those notes like tea leaves from a gypsy sage. Wonderful!

I wish they had playef the entire 75-76 tour this well. Keith is awesome on this clip.

Jagger's vocals of that era are not my favorite.

What a shame they're so cautious these days.

I remember that song live on TOTA in 1975. Nice. Thanks for the video. KR and Woody also do a nice job on "Fancy Mans Blues" as well.

Why was it necessary to post MT on this Keith thread? Why didn't you just start another one?

Well Taylor is playing more intense and bluesy then Keith (and Ron) together on YGTM, would be my interpretation, even when this wasn't his best performance.

I Like Keith's bluesy playing a lot on the clip posted.
Almost an attempt (and he comes close) to play the blues like BB King or Mick Taylor.
Not surprising as he still was pissed in '75 I presume. Maybe it got the best out of him that evening.
